Transwomen are not Women - Part 15

Because she lives in a state where it is legal. She can complain, she can do a lot of things. What she can't do is claim to be a victim.
Bad laws victimize innocent people all the time. Examples have been given. I can give more. I think this is one of them. I think you do, too. But no, for some reason you won't afford women the dignity of civil disobedience in the face unjust laws.

I'm arguing a slightly different angle: I'm saying she staged the confrontation. Kind of like going to a riot with a rifle and saying "omg, I had no idea I'd be forced to confront an assault against my will when I totally had no reason to expect it, it wasn't my fault!"

She had every reason to expect this guy in particular would be in that place in particular. I'm not saying she has no right to object. She does. I'm saying she has no intellectual right to act shocked and appalled at the foreseeable happening right on schedule, while she complains about being seen naked. Yes, she made that happen, then complained that it wasn't fair.

Serious question: if you knew your gym had its showering areas put on livestream (assume this could be legal for our purposes), and you 100% knew this, would you go shower there, then act appalled and offended for being livestreamed while washing your ass?

Eta: on the issue of being seen naked against your will, Freeman has breasts growing from hormone therapy, and expressed specific discomfort at being around guys in the men's locker. While I get that he is still 'downstairs' male, there is enough 'upstairs' female-looking going on to put him in a similar position of not wanting to be 'oogled'.

Bottom line for what is fair to me is for the gym to provide a few private changing areas (inconsequential expense of cheap partitioning), and require gym users to keep a towel or whatever around themselves in the communal areas.

A number of women here have already told you what they would do: avoid the place.

You treat that as if that solves the problem. But it does not. Having to avoid places you should be able to go is a serious problem. And it won't show up in any of the statistics you like to keep citing. The fact that you ignore this problem even though it's been described to you multiple times is yet another reason everyone here thinks you're on the TRA side.

Good news in the face of increasing transphobic abuse

The Sugababes, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Wolf Alice and more to play all-star charity concert for trans rights at Wembley Arena in March.
The event will be part of a "fight back against the politics of fear and exclusion".

Other than fund activists, what exactly do you think this concert will accomplish? What "rights" exactly are they fighting for?

That's one of the stopgap options, if your concern is being naked among strangers, but you want to choose the strangers.
You treat that as if that solves the problem.
I do not. When asked what alternatives were available to Hyman (as if she had no other conceivable options), that was one. Is it not an alternative?
But it does not. Having to avoid places you should be able to go is a serious problem.
You can go. The access rules are right out in the open. They are not custom tailored for each individual.

It occurred to me that Hyman is a lesbian. Do you think that some women might object to being 'oogled' at by Hyman? Or is a changing room generally assumed to be exempt from sexual oogling for whatever reason?
And it won't show up in any of the statistics you like to keep citing.
I have asked repeatedly for whatever data you have, only to being met with crickets. if you have something else, I remain all ears.
The fact that you ignore this problem even though it's been described to you multiple times...
I have not ignored it, and in fact acknowledged its persuasiveness.

If everyone on this particular thread agreed with me, I'd be gravely concerned and taking some time out for self reflection.

You... don't actually understand female sexuality, do you? Women are not aroused by naked bodies the way that men are. This is one of the reasons for sex segregated spaces in the first place.

You have been given data time and time again. You ignore that data if it's not in the form of statistics that you want, but it's still data.
I have not ignored it, and in fact acknowledged its persuasiveness.
And yet, you remain unpersuaded. Funny, that.

The Sugababes? Sophie Ellis-Bextor? Wolf Alice? Are these names supposed to mean something?

Whoever these Nellie Nobodies are, they're fighting a lost cause.... Only a few percent of the population support the idea that 'transwomen are women' and that percentage diminishes every single day as the public become better educated about the true nature of so-called "transwomen" (i.e., that they are in fact transgender identified males - biological men with mental disorders who wear frocks and womanface), so the tide continues to march inexorably against the Holy Cult of Transgender Ideology....

The game is up folks!

I guess you gotta take your wins when you can. Personally, I'm glad more governments and medical professionals are pulling back from irreversible trans affirming treatments for minors. So I hope your friends don't mess that up somehow. Maybe "Not A Phase" should think of a new name...

No worries really. This was just another drive-by post from one of our resident TRAs.

All of them know that they can't hack an honest debate - their fact-free, evidence-free position will get them handed their arse on a platter.

If that piece of fluff (apparently intended merely to contribute more funds to the Good Laugh Project, which despite raking in millions from crowdfunders has practically never won a case) is the best they have by way of good news, pity help them.

Jolyon has transed two of his three daughters. (He had previously written about wanting a son, go figure.) He will never row back on this because that would mean admitting he's ruined these girls' lives. Most of the money he raises for the GLP seems to go straight into his own pocket. Nice grift if you can get it.

It's just an ongoing grift for the foxkiller.
The fox killing thing is amusing because of how it conflicts with the aesthetics of his support base. But transing his kids is far, far worse. What are the odds that two of his daughters are randomly trans? Essentially zero. But of course, it's not random. It's a social contagion. And he infected his daughters.

Not only will he never admit he's ruining their lives, he can't admit that he did it for money. But hey, he got a bunch of musicians to hold a concert for him, so that's something.

What I don't get is why catsmate thinks this is a win worth celebrating. It's not a piece of trans privilege legislation being passed. It's not a trans privilege court decision. It's not a major standards body upholding a standard of trans privilege. It's not even a social cancellation event. It's certainly not the medical community producing science in support of trans affirming medicine.

No, it's just some people who share his opinions putting on a fundraiser for people who share his opinions. Catsmate isn't even celebrating the work accomplished with the the funds raised, because the fundraiser hasn't even happened yet (or maybe it's only just happened by now).

It's not happening till 11th March. We'll see how many tickets they sell, presumbly. Apparently a singer in one of the groups has transed herself, so that explains a fair bit. I hope she doesn't take testosterone, that will destroy her voice.

Yes, as I said, it's a strange thing to hang a "victory" post on. A veritable "Who's That?" of 1990s bands decides to put on a gig to swell Jolyon Maugham's already well-stocked wine cellar.
