It would appear someone is a little upset about not getting their own wat on the uri geller article:

Don't feel bad. I was once accused of being "far right-wing" by a self-avowed socialist college professor. Then, a few weeks later, called a "Communist" by my arch-conservative father.

When you start saying things others don't want to hear, you usually end up being equated to whatever boogeymen they hate or fear the most. In America, atheism are usually conflated with the afore mentioned Communists. Meanwhile, in a Norweigan anti-evolution pamphelt quoted on this forum, atheists are accused of being in league with "captialists."

It's no different for the woos. Equate your opponents to something universially (or regionally) reviled and hope it somehow sticks.

As a proud pseudo-intellectual, I am very comfortable with this assessment.
 
It is pathetic how we lap up such things as empirical evidence and facts. I feel ashamed.
 
Hmmm, anyone notice some intriguing similarities between "Earthacademy" and a certain banned poster from this forum. - i.e. fondness for Geller, claims to be a journalist, hatred of JREF...?

Exactly what I thought when I saw the prose style, actually, but I held back from saying it. the thought did cross my mind, however.

Quite - if journalism really was your livelyhood then you'd probably just say "I'm a journalist". Only the insecure or pompous would feel the need to use the adjective.

Perhaps I'll declare a new Law of Woo ....
