To add to that, at last check, many of those "savings" were brazen lies from the start. Many of the others were things that are better described as "penny wise, pound foolish" and will end up costing the America people a lot more, even if they weren't specifically "necessary" services that were cut.

Despite the massive amount of money being made by the United States of America, Hundreds of Billions of Dollars, as a direct result of Tariffs being charged to other countries, the full benefit of the Tariffs has not yet been calculated in that many of the buyers of goods and products, in order to avoid paying the Tariffs in the short term, "STOCK UP" by purchasing far more inventory than they can use in order to avoid Tariff payments in the short term.

That heavy inventory purchase is now, however, wearing thin, and soon Tariffs will be paid on everything they apply to, without avoidance, and the amounts payable to the USA will SKYROCKET, over and above the already historic levels of dollars received. These payments will be RECORD SETTING, and put our Nation on a new and unprecedented course. We are already the "hottest" Country anywhere in the World, but this Tariff POWER will bring America National Security and Wealth the likes of which has never been seen before.

Those opposing us are serving hostile foreign interests that are not aligned with the success, safety and prosperity of the USA. They couldn't care less about us. I look so much forward to the United States Supreme Court's decision on this urgent and time sensitive matter so that we can continue, in an uninterrupted manner to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Ah, thanks Donny. That explains it: Prices are higher now because suppliers stocked up on cheap imports before the tariffs, and those cheap imports cost more than they did because... something. Soon those cheap stocks will run out and further imports will be heavily taxed. So that's when prices will... umm.. come down... or... Wait a minute.

Not just illogical but nonsensical.

It reminds me of the French humorist Pierre Dac* introducing the latest scientific invention, the Biglotron:

The rest is pseudo scientific gibberish, essentially untranslatable, full of puns, many on the salacious side, that Dac would deliver in a very serious and doctoral manner.

The above is what has many retailers/manufacturers/economists worried. They did stock up. Those inventories are running out and they will have to begin buying at higher prices. That will trigger a round of price increases which, in turn, will soften demand. As George W. Bush would probably say, "This isn't rocket surgery."

trump crashed the football league, the airline and the casinos. Each time he was warned in advance by more experienced people but wouldn't listen. trump knew more than all the 'experts' combined.

Only he didn't. He knew less. A LOT less.
