• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Does 'rape culture' accurately describe (many) societies?

To clarify - you think everyone should be free to engage in sex irrespective of anything? A man who is in a relationship and has kids is free to go and have sex with whomever he so pleases. - and to do so just for the fun of it (let's assume his relationship with his partner is a good one)?
You can't assume anything. I think deception is far more destructive. This all depends on the relationship. I value integrity. Are you honest in your relationship? I had a monogamous relationship with one woman for 25 years. But that was our relationship. Who am I to judge if another couple has an open relationship? I know couples that make that work. That's their business, not mine.

That porn advocates are wallpapering children's lives with this content is a fact. I think you are extremely uncomfortable with the veracity of that.
Again, another assertion. And if they were, I would argue violence is far more ubiquitous and far more damaging.

That the industry is wallpapering kids lives is not debatable. You seem to have some difficulty in acknowledging obvious truths.

Yes, it very much is. You're making assertions based on nothing but your own say so and then accusing others of doing the same. The rank hypocrisy is staggering.

You clearly haven't been following the thread.

Evidence has been presented but I see zero from you.

Man, every single kid I knew in the 80s that had the local cable hookup had 'seen porn by age 13' because we'd all flipped past the scrambled channels with their moans & occasional flashes of clear imagery. That wasn't 'wallpaper' and neither is the stuff in the reports you've linked.

I'll give you 'wallpaper' of suggestive content. There is a hell of a lot of T&A. But no, not porn.

google search, click, click etc........wallpaper.

No. You have type in the search term, click on the link and then attest to being 18 years of age. That isn't wallpaper. And oh by the way, most kids under the age of 18 can also open a refrigerator or cabinet and access alcohol. Yes, if children are curious, and will lie, they will find it.

Not in the UK - the kid would have to have a way to get around the robust age verification processes that blocks all such access from the UK.

In the real world it's wallpaper and few here want to admit responsibility. I have and do.

Like a free VPN that takes seconds to download?

I don't know how you guys' wallpaper works but mine is there all the time without me doing anything at all to cause it to be on the walls. It's just the wrong metaphor to use to mean 'a thing can be found and looked at' even with minimal effort.

Wallpaper means always out, unavoidable. The internet (and world) is wallpapered with advertisement, for example.

I can see six brand names right now in front if me in my kitchen. I'd have to go to a lot of extra effort to debrand my surroundings. But no, I haven't been anywhere that's wallpapered with porn, except the inside of the actual porn shop.

Any evidence that any significant number of children are doing this? Plus of course it stops any kid "accidentally" coming across porn - remember that was one of your concerns?

Me too. I find this amusing. Talk about being worried about the wrong things.
Yep - we know the real harm done to kids is from the like of the social media companies, in a hierarchy of harm "accidentallY" coming across porn is way down the list for evidence of harm.

Exactly! And parents can create password protected accounts on their devices for their children that restrict access to adult content. The idea that any of this is necessarily accidental is absurd.
