Trump's Second Term

Eisenhower office building is next. He has seen it from the limo and the helicopter and was...concerned.
Below that:
Remember when it was just some encamped homeless people he saw from his limo and ordered cleared away? He's escalating. Hope he doesn't last long enough to decide some countries need to be erased.

Cash-strapped Kennedy Center letting FIFA use facilities rent-free for weeks: report

The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts will be postponing previously booked events so the Donald Trump administration can let FIFA, the cash-rich governing body of international soccer, use the facilities for free in late November into early December.

According to a report from the Washington Post, the televised draw for the 2026 World Cup will occur at the nation’s cultural center which has been reeling from poor ticket sales and longtime donors cutting off funds since the president fired the board, took over control and installed his own people.

Since the takeover, major acts have cancelled after the president complained the Kennedy Center offerings were “woke,” with ticket sales collapsing, and acts that did fulfill their contractual obligations playing before a sea of empty seats.

Despite the cash crunch, Trump’s people have agreed to waive rent for FIFA, which has had the effect of putting off or cancelling previously scheduled shows that would provide much-needed revenue.

The Post’s Janay Kingsberry and Rick Maese are reporting the FIFA World Cup draw scheduled for Dec. 5, “... will occupy performance spaces and other sections of the Kennedy Center for almost three weeks, according to the documents and a center employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the agreement.”

I guess Schitler wants to run the Kennedy Center into the ground, just like he did with many of his businesses.

"Statistics? We don't need no stinkin' statistics!"

WH claims 'inflation tamed,' per DoorDash stats. Company says that's not in its report.

It comes the same week we learned the WH would likely not release key economic reports for October.

The White House posted a blog on its website earlier this week announcing “NEW DATA: Lower Prices, Bigger Paychecks.” The announcement was based entirely on a report from food delivery app DoorDash titled “State of Local Commerce,” and the White House drew some pretty stunning conclusions. “...inflation has been tamed, everyday prices are beginning to drop, and wages are growing,” the post states. Sounds great! But is that what the report actually says? And what does it say about this government that they’re relying on a private company’s data in lieu of actual statistics of its own?
I reached out to DoorDash on Wednesday to better understand the actual meaning of the report and whether the company agrees with the White House’s interpretation, and I connected with a spokesperson by phone.

“I guess to zoom out a little bit, this report is not about politics, it's about data, right?” the spokesperson said. “We wanted to give people timely and transparent insights to better understand what's happening in their communities…We're really just putting out meaningful trends and not offering up an interpretation of what those trends say one way or the other vis a vis the White House.”

I asked the DoorDash spokesperson if the company would agree with this characterization that inflation has been tamed. He said “that's not something that we wrote in the report.”

Chicago mayor and judges need 'some attention'

Bovino: We're ratcheting operations up in Chicago.. That's a very corrupt system in Chicago—whether it's elected leaders like Pritzker or those out of control judges. Chicago needs some attention. We are not going anywhere out of Chicago.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I want this nazi Bovino (oh noes, I called a nazi a nazi) in front of one of those judges the day the dems are back in power. I want every one of these fascist ◊◊◊◊ heads held accountable for their actions. If they jaywalked, I want them in jail. If they threw a gum wrapper on the sidewalk, I want them in the slams. These masked cowards are power tripping and it's disgusting.

Epstein files vote happening next week, Johnson says

The speaker said he would move up the timeline after a bipartisan discharge effort succeeded Wednesday.

Speaker Mike Johnson said Wednesday he plans to hold a House vote next week on a measure mandating the full disclosure of Justice Department files related to the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Johnson announced those plans just hours after newly sworn Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) completed a discharge petition mandating a floor vote on the Epstein measure. His is a quicker timeline than is mandated under the rules governing discharge petitions, which would require a vote in early December.

House Republicans are eager to put the Epstein controversy in the rear-view mirror to the greatest extent possible as they seek to catch up after losing weeks of work due to Johnson’s decision to keep the chamber out of session during the government shutdown.

They are expecting a mass defection of Republican lawmakers on the vote — perhaps 100 or more — despite President Donald Trump calling the Epstein allegations a Democratic hoax.
Don't know what's going to happen, but I'm loading up on popcorn.

I have a bad feeling there won't be a smoking gun, either because it's been washed or it was never there in the first place. This slimy mother ◊◊◊◊◊◊ gets out of everything. ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Garland dropped the ball.

I'm becoming convinced all that chintzy golden crap defacing the White House is part of a scam. Maybe along the lines of The Lavender Hill Mob.

When Trump leaves office and his successor orders all that gilded Home Depot stuff scraped off the walls and sent in dumpsters to Mar a Lago, I wonder how long it takes before anyone realises the nation's gold reserves seem to be light a few tons and, now you come to mention it, those dumpsters were hellish heavy considering their contents were supposed to be painted polyurethane.

In a perfect world, Newsom or whoever wins in 2028 walking into the oval office at 12:30pm Saturday, 20 January 2029, gabs one of those cheap decorations off the wall and snaps it in half. Then says it's a good metaphor for the past 4 years.

However, since we are in the dumpster fire time line, that will not happen

Trump on Melania Trump’s speech: I think that's very good especially for someone that speaks five languages at least.

Why especially? You'd expect a polyglot to be a good speaker, surely?
Not a cult

JD Vance claims Trump "has better instincts about human beings than anybody I've ever met ... it's almost a supernatural ability"

Supernatural as in non-existent, I expect.
