Yeah, medals for gallantry suck because you have to be gallant. That means, like, selflessness. A lot of people don't know that. Only suckers and losers are selfless.

Obviously, a medal given to people with great success is better than a medal usually given to losers. :sarcasm:
 
Actually, I am surprised that Trump still publicly regards wounded and dead veterans as losers, which is quite obvious from his medal statement and other statements. I thought that way back in his campaign against Clinton, he had found that it was a bad idea to poke fun at wounded veterans. Or if he didn't find it a bad idea, then at least some of his handlers would have reigned him in.

His statement about how he has populated the VA with 9.000 people who love "vets" instead of "sadists" showed that he at least tried to show sympathy.

But there you are: this despicable person really think deep in his heart that being killed or wounded for the country is being a loser. Perhaps it is true what @Jack by the hedge said, that Trump thinks that selflessness is only for losers.

I wonder if his cultists will take it up at some point, and express the same ideas.

He can show his true colours now that a. He doesn't expect the US to be holding more free, fair elections, and B. He knows he's at death's door anyway. As someone pointed out, his approval is tanking, but the US might already be at the point where electibility isn't important anymore.
