After rounds of golf & parties in Palm Beach, Trump will fly to attend a football game while his economic advisers hit the Sunday shows trying to convince people that the terrible economy they said would be booming is the fault of Dems, while promising it will be great next year.

People keep getting this wrong. He has not played golf since September. His one side is shot. He can't swing a driver.

All his appearances in the White House, going up the stairs to AF1 and attending games is for one purpose: to prove he is still functional. The moment that he can't fo up AF1 stairs the "strong man" image is gone. He cannot be Trump anymore if he is wheeled around. He is not the kind of guy who is looking for sympathy and MAGA is not going to give it, either.

i always found trump's association with sports to be fairly interesting. he doesn't appear to be a die hard fan of any of them, but he's frequently been involved with promotion and ownership and seems to enjoy the social status it brings. i think he's association with wwe and ufc and the characters he involved himself with were a big part of why he won the election.

There was an alternate history short story I read in which Trump as a child catches a World Series winning home run ball in Yankee Stadium. The attention he receives afterward causes him to develop a life-long obsession with baseball. He buys the Yankees, builds them a new stadium, calling it Trump Field of course, and keeps the ball in a glass case on his desk, constantly bragging about how nobody else could have made the catch and he regularly receives multi-million dollar offers to buy it.

The Trump administration has been giving additional massive tax breaks to uber-wealthy corporations through under-the-radar notices, according to a report.

Through proposed regulations, the Treasury Department has offered tax relief to private equity firms, crypto companies, foreign real estate investors, and other large corporations, the New York Times first reported.

For example, in October, the IRS issued new proposed regulations that would provide breaks to foreign investors in U.S. real estate. In August, the IRS proposed a rollback of rules to prevent multinational corporations from dodging taxes by claiming duplicate losses in multiple countries.

The notices have not made headlines, but have been flagged by accounting and consulting firms.

“Treasury has clearly been enacting unlegislated tax cuts,” Kyle Pomerleau, a senior fellow at the think-tank American Enterprise Institute, told the Times. “Congress determines tax law. Treasury undermines this constitutional principle when it asserts more authority over the structure of the tax code than Congress provides it.”

JFC, these goddam people, posers on TV stoking a fire they have no intention of being burned by- for ratings. Going it alone and not needing friends is not the same thing as actively seeking to make enemies. And not being handcuffed by history is all well and good, but Watters might want to reflect that the reason we ended up dropping that bomb on Japan is that they, at that time, were in effect burning bridges to take a Greenland.

I would love to think so but if Canada was invaded there would only be some hand-wringing and pearl-clutching. Maybe a few sanctions but that would be about it.

We Canadians realize we are totally on our own here. International alliances are meaningless in the face of US aggression.

The US isn't Russia. A million American dead in a special military Trump operation to warmly welcome the US's Canadian brothers and sisters into happy membership the Union is simply not going to happen.

I'm not saying don't invest in a ◊◊◊◊ load of fibreoptic FPV drones, but realistically the sabre rattling is at worst an attempt to lever some other concession.

I can already imagine all the lapdogs and sycophants completely ignoring it or pretending it's Jeff, his new bodyguard, and eager to be the first to say the president's as fit as a horse and they're constantly amazed by how not ill he is and they never knew anyone so perfectly healthy and certainly not dying.

I believe we will eventually find out DOGE destroyed previous years financial records to cover the thefts and embezzlement happening once Trump took over. That and the fact that Trump fired all the heads of acccountability agencies that look for corruption and financial improprieties. Those reserve funds are gone (stolen) so no emergency SNAP benefits
