Cuomo defeated in NYC Democratic Mayoral Primary

Michael Adams, KY Secretary of State
@KYSecState
We’re getting calls about polls being closed. They are closed because we do not have elections today. Kentucky votes next year. You cannot vote today in Kentucky for the mayor of New York City or the Governor of Virginia. Sorry.

I wonder if there's a point where the rhetoric goes too far even for the 'enlightened' to buy?
Yeah, I was thinking about the same thing. If you overpromise that the sky will fall, people will eventually start to ask you when you think it was meant to happen.

The doom-mongering about an introduction of Sharia law is just a super-crazy one for the real loonies, but it's only going to be one of a long list of pieces of sky which do not fall. Eventually just about everyone will notice.

Are Republicans going into a meltdown about this result, or is that hyperbole by some UK journalists?

Not Republicans, though. They swore Obama would destroy the country if he became president, and they're still saying it after his eight years in office. Do not expect those who are blind to reason to suddenly see any.

They have completely lost their ◊◊◊◊ over it.
Just read some of the posts and statements from them

Tonight, in America’s largest city, New York City elected a communist to be its next leader.

His policies threaten not only the future of New York but also the values that make America strong.

As the next Governor of Tennessee, I give you my word: we will never allow this kind of radical thinking to take root in our state. Under my leadership, Tennessee will be the freest state in the nation, where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are encouraged, not diminished

KAYLEIGH MCENANY: "We are in uncharted waters with this Democratic Party."

"As we sit here, in New York City — 9% of the entire American economy — could be setting out on a grand social experiment of socialism that has demonstrably failed in the Soviet Union and beyond, but let's try it here."

Democrats who wouldn’t endorse the Democratic mayoral candidate in New York are busy heaping praise on Dick Cheney. *sighs*
Bill Clinton on X, Nov 4, 2025
Throughout his long career in public service, Dick Cheney was guided by a deep belief that he was doing what was right for America. Though we often disagreed, I always respected his dedication to our country and his unwavering sense of duty. My thoughts are with Lynne and the Cheney family.

Trump posted a rant that the results were because "Trump, and the shutdown, weren't on the ballot."
I'm leaving out his all caps.

Not everything is about you, moron. And how did that endorsement of Cuomo work out?

What does the Mayor of NYC have to do with the shutdown of the federal government? Still no idea how government works and no desire to learn.

I suppose I should include a link.

So NYC is now switching to a Soviet-style command economy? Can't wait for the publication of the first 5 year plan. More tractors than you can shake a stick at. Exciting times.

A contingent of the Red Guard just showed up at my door and demanded proof that my breakfast was halal.

In the article you quoted it said there was a "three way race". Which three?
Sarcasm, I presume but the three were identified as Zohran Mamdani, Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa in the article. They left out Eric Adams the incumbent. Adams pulled one-third of one percent of the vote. The incumbent runs for reelection and gets 0.3% of the vote; has that ever happened before?

The crazy reaction from the right seems to be the standard hate-mongering and promoting of division that has become their trademark. Let's see what happens, but this morning I am proud to call myself a New Yorker!
