Split Thread Are Antifa and violent leftists the cause of everything wrong in America?

And you haven't provided instances of anything worse in Poretland.
I have. You just ignore it. You could look it up on your own, too, if you actually cared, instead of trying to deny Antifa's guilt.

"PBA says the downtown area has lost more than $23 million - $4 million from physical damages, and $18 million in lost revenue."

I don't see anything about buildings being burned to the ground.

It's interesting that you didn't include this part in your post:

"We recognize that the information below and attached provides a snapshot and narrative of the economic damage," said Amy Lewin, Vice President of Strategic Communications with the PBA. "However, we clearly recognize that systemic racism is the root cause of the community outrage resulting in ongoing demonstrations. We stand with our community members’ expression of frustration."

Or this part:

One of the downtown businesses feeling the impact is Watchworks Incorporated. President Alex Hofberg says windows were broken and the business was looted. Seven showcases were destroyed with people stealing watches and jewelry. Hofberg says the company is still assessing the cost to rebuild and replace everything.
"I assume there's $100,000 worth of physical damage, but also nearly $300,000 in property damage." Hofberg said.

Sounds more like common everyday thieves that are taking advantage of the confusion, but you go right ahead with your fantasy reality.

I'm sure it allows you to sleep easier at night.

I'm not Wikipedia. Do your own research.

Antifa (/ænˈtiːfə, ˈæntifə/) is a left-wing anti-fascist and anti-racist political movement. It is a highly decentralized array of autonomous groups in the United States.[1][2]

As I said, it's an umbrella term for any group that is anti-fascist. It's not an organisation with leaders, agenda, tactics etc.

Many right-wing politicians and groups have characterized antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, or use antifa as a catch-all term,[18] which they adopt for any left-leaning or liberal protest actions.[19] According to some scholars, antifa is a legitimate response to the rise of the far right.[20][21] Scholars tend to reject an equivalence between antifa and right-wing extremism.[2][22][23].

Various right-wing groups and individuals have made numerous efforts to discredit antifa.[27][28] Some have been social media hoaxes, many false flag operations by alt-right and 4chan users posing as antifa backers on Twitter;[29][30][31] some hoaxes have been picked up and portrayed as fact by right-leaning media and politicians.[29][32][33] On September 22, 2025, Trump signed an executive order intended to designate antifa as a domestic terrorist organization,[34][35] after repeated calls by Trump and William Barr to do so.[36] Academics, legal experts, and others have argued such an action exceeds the authority of the presidency and violates the First Amendment.[37][38][39] Several analyses, reports, and studies have concluded that antifa is not a major domestic terrorism risk.[40][41][42] Some research suggests that most antifa action is nonviolent.[24][25][26]

Wikipedia doesn't say what you paraphrased it as saying.

"Individuals involved in the movement subscribe to a range of left-wing ideologies, and tend to hold anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, and anti-state views. A majority of individuals involved are anarchists, communists, and socialists,[7] although some social democrats also participate in the antifa movement.[5][8][9] The name antifa and the logo with two flags representing anarchism and communism are derived from the German antifa movement.[10] Dartmouth College historian Mark Bray, author of Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook, credits Anti-Racist Action (ARA) as the precursor of modern antifa groups in the United States.[11][12]"

Scumbags all, and the world would be better off if they didn't exist.

...and? None of those ideologies are illegal, and most can be argued to actually be beneficial to society.

LOL! Neither is Fascism! If you want to be a Nazi, a Fascist, a Communist, a Socialist, an Anarchist, a Democrat, a Republican, a Green, an Independent, those are all legal! The US makes a point of not making ideologies illegal! Most of them are horrible for society, but they are legal.

It seems that Trump supporters are using a novel definition of what it means to "burn down a city". A single fire means that the entire city has burnt down.
The Portland protests resulted in more than one fire. Entire businesses burned. It seems that some people think that setting multiple fires causing millions of dollars in damage is not "setting the city on fire." It's like somebody who calls the fire department and says, "Hurry, my house is on fire!" and the dispatcher says, "That depends. Is it the whole house, or just a couple of rooms?"

That article is from 2020.

In 2020, maybe.

Is all your news five years old?

Nope...however much you want to try and create a false equivalence between communism and fascism, the reality is different. Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian system based on a nationalist, hierarchical, and often racial ideology rigidly defined social and class roles, with the state at the top with a powerful dictator at its head. It's very nature does not make it beneficial for any society.

Communism seeks a classless, stateless society with common ownership of the means of production and economic equality. It seeks to eliminate class distinctions and create a society where all are equal.

Time to start a new thread somewhere this one has gone to ◊◊◊◊.
