Trump's promised ICE raids have begun

Get the numbers ever higher

Homan: "I can tell you that the Trump administration is dedicated to achieving a record deportation, the vast majority being criminal aliens, making this country safer every day. But as far as personnel changes, that's under the purview of the Secretary of Homeland Security. I'm at the White House working with people like Stephen Miller, one of the most brilliant people I've met, to come up with strategic policies and plans -- how to get success, how to maintain success, and how to get the numbers ever higher."

Mother of 8 charges sexual abuse by ICE—she was deported very next day.

Agent engaged in "severe sexual harassment" and demanded "sexual favors."

After her story aired on television Thursday night—she was deported on Friday morning.

ICE ignored a judge's emergency order of temporary stay of removal—and she was illegally deported.

Lawsuit charges the ICE agent with saying things like, "If you're good to me, I'll be good to you."

Reyna Mendoza is the mother of 8 children—all U.S. citizens—living in Sacramento, California.

Some context for the highlighted allusion: Yesterday, The Denver Gazette reported that "The Trump administration has begun to purge Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in offices in five major U.S. cities and fill some of those top posts with senior Border Patrol agents, who will take over interior immigration enforcement in those regions..." The five cities were Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and San Diego.

The newspaper article says "The DHS had planned to fire all five field office directors", but the acting ICE Director succeeded in having them transferred to ICE headquarters instead. An anonymous official said he thinks "this is being pushed" by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem because she doesn't like Tom Homan. That anonymous official also said Border Patrol commander Dan Bovino (whose alleged violations of a federal judge's court orders led her to order him to appear before her in court each weekday evening until the 5 November hearing on a preliminary injunction) is viewed as "the new standard for what is to come at ICE."

From the way the article is written, it isn't clear to me whether Homan would have preferred to fire the five outright, or was instead opposed to removing them from their posts. I get the impression Homan would have preferred to fire the five outright, and is leading the charge to put Border Patrol people in charge of ICE field operations. But DHS (aka Kristi Noem) has ultimate authority over personnel matters at ICE.

ETA: By the way, Tom Homan continues to deny his acceptance of $50,000 in cash from federal agents who were working under cover and allegedly recorded Homan's acceptance of the cash. The Trump administration shut down that investigation. When asked whether Homan accepted the cash, Vice President J D Vance deflected by saying Homan "did not take a bribe". Attorney General Pam Bondi, testifying under oath before Congress, was asked that same question and refused to answer.

I was just thinking about the bloody "night of the long knives" when Hitler sent in his SS, SD and Gestapo to purge the SA, as he saw their penchant for street violence as a threat to his growing power.

I can't think what it was that put me in mind of it.

This is the same but in reverse

The cruelty is the point.

Just another court order this corrupt administration ignored. There is nothing to stop them, nothing.

Kyle Cheney @kyledcheney wrote:HAPPENING NOW: Portland Police Commander Franz Schoening testifies that federal officers on Oct. 18 barraged protesters with crowd control munitions — not because of any violence but because another federal officer accidentally shot tear gas onto the roof of the ICE facility.

SCHOENING's testimony, at a federal trial on the legality of Trump's guard deployment in Portland, describes federal officails as repeatedly using "indiscriminate" force against protesters despite no signs of threat from protesters.

SCHOENING: "The types and amounts of force being used by federal officers is disproportionate to the level of criminal conduct or violence we’re seeing down there."

He says actions of fed officers have stoked, rather than quelled, unrest.

Actually, it was a bit more than that. The SA leader Röhm had not too high esteem of Hitler, and toyed with the idea of taking over the party with his storm troopers. There was probably other ways to nib this in the bud, but the killing of Röhm and other leaders was certainly effective.

The historical situation could well get parallels with present day MAGA, and other Trump organisations.

ICE violently detains mother driving daughter to school—for not having social security number memorized.

"Agent became flustered when she couldn't repeat the number... then just lunged at her," said daughter.

She showed agents work permit, social security card, drivers license, and car registration—they arrested her anyway.

"I want this video out there because I want my mother home," explained her 16-year-old daughter.

Jaykie Funez-Andrade is currently being detained at the Rockingham County Jail with no pending criminal charges—as a "courtesy" to ICE.

The incident occurred on Route 11 North in Harrisonburg, Virginia

Well, at least those two cowards weren't wearing masks.

I wonder if Mom resisted by throwing her face into their fists?
