Just leave the women alone. Present your case to the relevant legislators or organize an event to raise public awareness. You don't have to be cruel to the women at the clinic within spitting distance for ANY REASON OTHER THAN TO DIRECTLY HARASS THEM.

Polite and civil protest is not cruel or harassment.

They had that already. It didn't work effectively, and allowed widespread harassment of the women and workers. Sometimes, there just aren't enough cops or jail cells to dedicate to a bunch of women hating twats.

If that's the case, which I believe it is, then you actually dont care about Freedom of Speech.

If you did, you'd make exceptions for civil and polite protest.

No, as we have all said multiple times:

1. We support the rights of women to not be harassed.

2. In the UK, abortion protesters couldn't stop harassing the women.

3. So the police had to create an exclusion zone.

It's pretty a straightforward valuing of rights, and the repetition has grown dull as dishwater.

How about this? Any person who engages in harassment by an abortion clinic gets a 500' restraining order against ALL medical facilities that provide abortions. Breaking such restraining order brings minimum prison time of 5 years.

That way everyone gets a chance to be nice. If they can't be nice, 500' away you must stay. Still can't be nice? Prison for 5 years.

Or, ridiculous idea. Those *wanting* to protest / pray silently can do so, allowing them to have their free speech, and anyone that *wants* to listen to them can walk the 500ft. Whereas those *needing* to go into the abortion clinic can do so without being forced to listen to the protesters.

How do they enforce the exclusion zone? With police!!

If you can do it with a 500 mile exclusion zone, you can do it with a 15' exclusion zone that doesn't penalize peaceful and civil protestors.

No legitimate reason to restrict peaceful protestors to 500' away.

Which has to be enforced with police. Who can do the same job from 15'.

How about we just pretend the guy was black and the police didn't arrest him but killed him. That is a acceptable punishment for standing on the sidewalk in the US so why be so upset about it? We can pretend he was selling loose cigarettes if that helps.
