Darat was talking about being sacked. That is what private businesses do, as well as public sector. And the same principle applies. We are talking about government censorship and prosecution.
Not what private businesses do.

Calling someone Susan, and calling them a ◊◊◊◊, is a little diffeent.Agreed. That is not misgendering, or anything else inappropriate. It might indicate that you are still wrestling with the concept of pronouns, but whatevs.
No one suggests anything is your fault, or whether or not Susan has been diagnosed with GD, but again, whatevs.
Absolutely. Why, I shouldn't be stopped from calling women the C word in the workplace. Why should they force me to change how I talk? The C word is a common term of endearment in many English speaking... ahem... countries, yeah?
How?Calling someone Susan, and calling them a ◊◊◊◊, is a little diffeent.
Even you can see that.
Kool.How?
I already agreed that calling them Susan was not a problem.
The Executive Branch is literally making an official designation. There is no official designation in the USA of "domestic terrorist group".
Trump said it, but he made it up and its fake.
Not if you are talking about the UK, our right to freedom of expression isn't limited to what the government can and cannot do, it extends for instance into the workplace, regardless of whether your employer is a private company or not.We are talking about government censorship and prosecution.
Not what private businesses do.
Trumpfuhrer has NO authority whatsoever to designate a new category of criminal organization. The Executive Branch is literally making an official designation....

Meanwhile I am talking about government censorship and prosecution of speech, not what private entities do.
That is the whole point of the OP.
You want to get back to the OP? Kewlsie Wewelsies.Kool.

Just a reminder, this thread is about being sent to jail, fined, or other government enforced penalty for speech in public.![]()
Yorkshire police arrest UK man for 'F*** Hamas' X post | The Jerusalem Post
Pete North, 47, was arrested over the meme on suspicion of committing a public order offence.www.jpost.com
How is this possible?
In the UK if you post "◊◊◊◊ Hamas" or "◊◊◊◊ Palestine" on Facebook or Twitter, you go to jail???
When did this insanity start?
Its not stirring up ◊◊◊◊ to condemn the genocide in Gaza and calling for the UK govt to install strong military, trade and diplomatic sanctions on Israel till the war crimes, genocide and apartheid ends. You want to get back to the OP? Kewlsie Wewelsies.
The UK is clamping down on people that deliberately stir up ◊◊◊◊ which leads directly to public disorder. Not every one, but some here and there, some of which are overreach cases that don't go any further, like the OP case. Ok. Not exactly a revolutionary overreach, to my eye.
Just a reminder, North was not sent to jail, fined, or endures any other government enforced penalty. He was arrested and questioned, having a long track record of arrests and racial.agitation. He has not been charged or incarcerated.Just a reminder, this thread is about being sent to jail, fined, or other government enforced penalty for speech in public.
Agreed. "◊◊◊◊ Islam" and ordering protestors out of the country kinda is stirring up ◊◊◊◊, and as an avowed racist, right up North's alley. Its not stirring up ◊◊◊◊ to condemn the genocide in Gaza and calling for the UK govt to install strong military, trade and diplomatic sanctions on Israel till the war crimes, genocide and apartheid ends.
The arrest seems to be massive overkill.Just a reminder, North was not sent to jail, fined, or endures any other government enforced penalty. He was arrested and questioned, having a long track record of arrests and racial.agitation. He has not been charged or incarcerated.
Nobody was "ordered" to do anything as he had no such authority to order anyone to do ◊◊◊◊.Agreed. "◊◊◊◊ Islam" and ordering protestors out of the country kinda is stirring up ◊◊◊◊, and as an avowed racist, right up North's alley.
I think that's just how they do things over there? As I said earlier, their arrest is not quite like our arrest. For them, it was basically "you won't answer to questioning voluntarily, so we have to do it the non-voluntary way".The arrest seems to be massive overkill.
No, it really doesn't.The arrest seems to be massive overkill.
Ok. Knock yourself out. Or someone else might do so for youNobody was "ordered" to do anything as he had no such authority to order anyone to do ◊◊◊◊.
And absolutely, I should be able to take a plane to London today, get off, take a taxi to Trafalgar Square, and shout for 5 minutes "◊◊◊◊ islam!!! ◊◊◊◊ Palestine!!! ◊◊◊◊ Gaza!!!!"
No none ever said Freedom of Speech was polite.
And then he would go to prison after suffering some severe bone fractures.Ok. Knock yourself out. Or someone else might do so for you![]()
