If some sinister villains were blocking entry to the building... who the hell was trying to get in? Enterprising fire extinguisher salesmen? Realtors chasing an opportunity to buy low? Stapler thieves?
Zaphod Beeblebrox's minions.....

OK, this may be excessively obscure but canonically Zaphod ran a successful and highly profitable second-hand biro business

I think, as skeptics, we should fairly evaluate this evidence with am open mind, and consider the implications of this testimony and...

No, I tried to stay in character but I peed myself a little.

24 years later these people suddenly remember all these details?
Why are we not shown the parts of the interviews where they apologize for being absolute, abject COWARDS and explain their silence up until today?
What has changed that they are speaking now?
Have they never told their FDNY and NYPD brethren?
Why are they telling their stories to "Truthers"? Why not sell the story where the audience is maximal?

The lobby of WTC7 was initially designated a staging area for the emergency response, but given up following the damage it received from the collapsing towers.
Firefighters were then sent in to assess its integrity; they reported some fires etc.
Eventually it was decided to abandon WTC7.
Still later on, when fires burned fully involved and the building was found deforming and creaking, chief Nigro ordered all responders working GZ to evacuate to outside a collapse zone.

So this raises a question: WHEN were these witnesses trying to get into WTC7, and why?
It is certainly plausible that they might not have receieved the orders to stay out of WTC7 or later to get further away from it, and so ran into personel telling them.

It is also also not implausible that they may have seen agents with rifles!
In fact, NIST's NCSTAR 1-8 shows in Figure 8-1 on page 163 a member of the NYPD's Emergency Service Unit (ESU) in helmet and bullet-proof vest, holding a rifle that maybe someone might describe as an "uzi". According to the caption, he was "providing security at the FDNY Incident Command Post in front of WFC 2".

I find it possible that, after 24 years and perhaps some years identifying as Truthers, some responders may have merged a memory of being denied access with a memory of a security person with a rifle and the nonsense they learn from "9/11 Truth" to synthesize a FALSE MEMORY.

I cover Patrick Dillon and Richard Patterson in my taking-down of Gage's WTC7 nonsense.

It's not unexpected that armed guards were securing the building given the orders to evacuate the area, though I agree more information is always better. The conspiracy theory that these guys were standing guard while men-in-black were rushing inside the building rigging it for demolition is both logistically and logically preposterous.

What's funny about Patrick Dillon, is that in neither of his interviews (which you can find online) does he mention anything about hearing explosions as WTC7 falls, despite being right next to it as it collapses. The only fire fighter who says they heard "explosions" as WTC7 collapsed was Richard Patterson, and even he described them as something more akin to the sounds of a building collapsing that "bombs". Needless to say none of the cameras filming WTC7 picked up any "explosions" either.

On a side note, in the same video I expose a clever bit of dishonest trickery by Richard Gage. In Patrick Dillon's interview, he describes watching WTC7 collapse, and then as he is walking back into the area afterwards feels the ground "shaking". Richard edits this interview, and in his presentation he makes it sound like Patrick Dillon feels the ground shaking violently just before WTC7 begins to collapse.

Sneaky bit of dishonesty from Gage, but what do we expect.

Patrick appears at the 43 minute mark:

"I could collapse the building onto its own footprint."
