Well, the problem you see is that a reporter asked him about it, and of course, that's when the fat clown first learned about it and decided to look into it. It probably took this long for him to figure it out.

It's all that stupid reporter's fault, and they were probably a damn democrat too (just kidding of course).

Honestly, to me, it seems coherent enough. The things listed are bad things that authoritarians have historically done and which Republicans have been working hard to change the rules so that they can do those things.

The doing their best to become an authoritarian regime Trump Administration has been specifically acting to try to do exactly what he listed, for that matter, so I find it hard to call that incoherent. Rather than incoherent, it's much more dishonest and is part of a long line of justification lies. "The Democrats are doing it and did it first! Therefore, we are completely justified in doing it and doing it to them worse!"

But his words don't even say that. Unless he is saying the Republicans are the put-upon "dissidents"?? I thought being a dissident was superdoubleplus bad to MAGA.

I would caution Vought to be very careful of his own safety if he follows through on his plans. Hundreds of thousands of angry fired government employees also own lots of guns... Remember what happened to Charlie Kirk, Russ, and Charlie was just a loudmouth GOP troll compared to you.

They are the put-upon victim, the scrappy underdog, and the biggest, baddest kid on the block all at the same time. Sort of a Schrodinger's Paul Kersey, with all stages of Charles Bronson's character arc in Death Wish 3 superimposed on each other.

ETA: added a few qualifiers to clarify which iteration of Paul Kersey I had in mind.

Interesting. Usually it's the enemies of the fascists who are simultaneously pitfully weak and incredibly strong. Dump's thin skin and endless persecution complex must be rubbing off on the rest of the cult.
