Bagram Airfield was the gateway to Afghanistan for a generation of U.S. service members. The last U.S. troops quietly withdrew from the base in July 2021, shortly before the Taliban took control of the entire country.

And I disagree. I think the 2026 election is already fixed, and we need to either surrender or plan for the next step. And I am not ready to surrender.

And that sorta just circles right around to the points made before that you seem to refuse to address. You also keep utterly mischaracterizing positions as "absolute pacifism," without seemingly any real supporting evidence to back your complaint up and evidence that pretty clearly refutes it. This is hardly the only case of you doing similar, of course, and it earns you eye-rolls far more than credibility.

Fixed? It's possible. There are obviously efforts to fix 2026 in the works, as the incrementally increasing election rigging by the Republican Party has long kept very clear, though I'm not convinced yet that they'll necessarily be quite as successful as Trump and co wish them to be. As for planning for the future? Of course we should, as a general matter. Considering various potential scenarios, evaluating their likelihood, and preparing plans contingent upon which ends up being the case is pretty much part of being a responsible adult, I think.

With that said, I also happen to think that meaningful discussion of any plans involving violence and preparation for violence on an open, very public forum like this is just begging for those plans to be caught and crushed before implementation. Even if a smarter person were planning such, this would not be a venue to discuss or endorse such unless they wanted to fail.

That's her wide-brimmed cloche hat, the same one -- or very nearly the same -- that she was sporting while holding the Bible for hubby at the Inauguration last January. The Bible he kept his hand off of. :(

Ah, it makes sense now: that hat is lined with copper and has a grounding wire running down the back of her dress. She was anticipating her husband being struck by lightning as he swears an oath she knows he cannot possibly intend to keep, while standing right next to her.

No doubt she feared there may be magical defenses in the palace that would aim lightning at him during this visit. If she had cared enough (I don't care do u?) to do basic research on the people she was visiting she'd have learned that Camilla converted all the royal residence sorceries to blood-based magic, to better mesh with her vampirism.

Ypu are trying to find a peaceful wya to stop the slide inot dictatorship, and I feel the time for that is past.

Nobody is defending it.In fact there are a lot of protests in the UK over this. And not just about Trump. Starter has generally been a disappointment, particularly with regard to his economic policies and also his kowtowing to Israel. There are many who now feel that Corbyn was unnecessarily hounded out by an Israel lobby that was quick to label him an ant-semite just for raising concerns about Israel's apartheid

Trump is the democratically elected leader of a country which has long been the UK's ally. There's nothing the UK could have legitimately done to prevent that, and nothing it can legitimately do to change it. All other countries can do is cope with the situation as best they can, and hope the US electorate eventually come to their senses. Outrageous flattery seems to be the most effective way of ensuring he does the least possible amount of damage to our country. There's nothing we can do about the damage he is doing to yours.
