Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

By saying "their ilk" you show your disingenuousness
How so? "Their ilk" means "a type of person or thing similar to one already referred to".

in ignoring, willfully, the bizarre almost complete flipping of the two major party's platforms.
I thought I made the point pretty clearly... "their ilk" would clearly include SOUTHERN Democrats, a term I was careful make sure I used.

Remember, Southern Democrats AND Southern Republicans all opposed the civil rights movement and racial integration, while Northern Democrats and Northern Republicans mostly supported both. Rememeber, we're talking about a period less that 100 years after the Civil War.... many people in the south would say.... "Muh Grandpappy done fought in that war".

(for the removal of doubt, the highlighted was sarcasm)

We know where the more hateful, racist folk land today and we know where they were before.
It's really not that hard to keep it straight, and to be honest about it.
I find the behaviour of the current iteration of Republicans to be authoritarian, anti-democratic, anti-free speech and generally disgusting.

Just as Lincoln was indeed a Republican in his day. Would he be so in ours?
I'm pretty certain he would be a Democrat in the current climate... Republicans would consider him to be a woke, radical leftie.

That news conference recited evidence that speaks to motive.

The text exchanges read at the news conference are evidence that Robinson was in a romantic relationship with his gender-transitioning roommate, that he was aware his parents had gone full MAGA in recent years, and that Robinson was angry with Charlie Kirk for (as yet unspecified, but it isn't hard to guess) things Kirk had said.

I apologize for the following armchair psychology, but this is how it looks to me.

Robinson had to be aware that his parents would disapprove of his relationship with his roommate. (Whether they knew about it is not yet clear to me, but they would surely learn of it eventually.) Rather than have it out with his parents, which would have been tough on a 22-year-old who had been raised in that kind of family, he directed his anger toward Charlie Kirk. Robinson was angry with Charlie Kirk, so Charlie Kirk had to die. (I'm not saying that makes sense, but that's the message I got from Robinson's texts read at the news conference.)

:(

if that's true, it also sounds like it was a pretty personal thing in some ways as well. though i suppose the lines between political and personal can cross. like luigi mangione, like yeah it sounds like he hated insurance companies, but not because of or only because of ideological reasons, he also had some personal problems with them due to his back.

??

Derail.
1984 is not fascist propaganda in the slightest. It's a warning about totalitarianism
And against totalirarinanism in any form. People forget that Oceania in 1984 is, at least in rhetoic a left wing state.
It is based much more on Stalin;s Russia then Hitler Germany, though Orwell hated both.
Something alot of lefties life to forget, frankly.

Yup.

Also the original cartoon for the notices bulges meme has a character that wouldn't be out of place as the antagonist in a Jack Chick cartoon.

ETA. I wasn't aware that it was so recent, I spotted it around 2020. Again looking at the intersection between antivaxers and Nazis
That doesn't explain why you think a reference to noticing something that has nothing to do with Jews running things is actually a reference to noticing Jews running things.

Because of the context, and context and hidden messages are how the whole groyper and similar subcultures communicate. In fact I wonder if that is one explanation for QAnon - if someone's group spends time using context to give phrases hidden meanings, then maybe they are primed to see them everywhere.

Just as fourteen words isn't an innocent phrase on their hands.

It's one of those things that waves a huge red flag for me after seeing so many Nazis using the phrase on Twitter.

So far I've heard the shooter was a left wing radical, a right-wing radical, and a trans-rights radical dating his trans roommate and the writing on the bullet casing is either radical left or on-line gamer slang, or I suppose both. I don't know why I need to be reminded, but nothing in the first week or even two in any kind of big news story regarding violence or tragedy is reliable.

Hidden messages or just shibboleths. As you say, very common in any culture or subculture or cults. Identifying dog whistles can be its own shibboleth.

I think everyone knows this, but that doesn't change the fact that online discourse in a fairly civil environment is enjoyable to have.

Are you describing what you are doing?

Just as fourteen words isn't an innocent phrase on their hands.
No idea what that means.

Nazis use sexual expressions from furry culture on Twitter?

So with the text messages, seems he was not a Groyper, he hated Kirk presumably for the anti-trans or other views.
Remains to be seen how he was radicalized, but one thing is for sure: being raised by a religious MAGA family did not instill in him a good sense of morality. All it did was train him to use a gun very skillfully.

Every source I have seen says it is a reference to noticing that somebody has male genitals. Why you think it has another meaning is what I am trying to work out.

well in the examples i've seen, it's a neckbeard weirdo saying the phrase and it's making fun of people who write furry fanfic as being neckbeard creeps.

According to Axios he referred to his trans-roommate as his "love". It might be that the guy is left-wing and he did this for left-wing reasons...or he was just a young kid who was pissed about the way Charlie talked about someone he cared about.
