Trump's Second Term

If I were the head of the Democrat Party, I'd apologise to the American people for my part in failing to win the election and leaving them in the hands of a gaggle of criminals, bigots, unqualified bluffers, alcoholics, lunatics, morons and scum.

Yeah. let's blame the democrats... bwahahahahahaha... thanks for the laugh.

Remember how the Democrats got a fair bit of pre-election traction from pointing out how weird the Republicans are?

They underestimated, badly. The right still thinks the left shot Kirk because even they don't begin to grasp how amazingly weird they are.

Oh Democrats failed more than that. They also completely gave up on the media space. Who is leading Democrats these days anyway ?

I have absolutely no idea. From outside the US the Dems have sunk into total invisibility. I wonder if that's the same at home too.

My point wasn't about the failings of the Dems though it was about the amazing weirdness of the alt-right culture the shooter seems to have emerged from.

Personally, I blame all this crap on the fat clown and his maga weirdoes.

Indeed. They and they alone are responsible for their own awfulness. I was posting, not entirely seriously, in response to the comments of Lara Trump. You may have read the post before I went back and edited? It's my fault for a spot of post-work inarticulacy and trying to post while doing two other things at the same time.

Funny, but why 1989?

Partly for the song..

But Trump is mentally back then when he was still relatively young and with it. Crime spots etc There's a bunch of things over the last couple of years particularly, but to be honest it's more an impression it's made than remembering individual events in the firehose of crap he spews.

I think there is a difference between blaming the democrats and saying they scrwed up badly in 2024.
Biden 's decisiion to run for reelection was a terrible mistake.
I can't see how anybody can deny that unless they are in denial themselves.
I have no great love for the Democrats. though I support them as being a much better alternative then what the GOP has become.
And I Hate that. I hate having to support a group I don;t really like because there is no alternative.
I have come to hate political idologues of any flavor. They are why we are in the mess we are in today. Blind adherence to dogma, despite the facts.
JI am now convinced both left and right have failed to come up with any workable solutions and we need to find a way beyond left and right. a pragamitc way of lookikng at problems without political dogma. political dogma is more destructive then religous dogma.

I hate Trump, but also think the Dems screwed up in 2024 badly.
It is not a either or proposition. You can hate Donnie and what the GOP has become with a passion, and still think the Democrat blew it big time in 2024.
Some people here are in denial about how inept the Dems were in 2024. They suffer, theough in a much milder way, from the same disease the GOP has..blind party loyalty
I have no party loyalty whatsoever. I am not giving a blank check to anybody.

If there's any hope for the future, it is gonna have to come from a populist progressive. Someone like Bernie only without the political baggage.
No party right now is seizing on the enormous anger and despair of Gen Z, and the bottom 98%-- he who figures that out will find a winning platform.
