Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

30-06 casings are not small...

Its a high powered rifle. A "moose gun" The cartridge case between the web and the shoulder is almost 2" long. You could engrave the opening sentence of Orwell's 1984 on that with room to spare, using a cheap hand engraver from The Home Depot!!
I know roughly how big they are. Now try inscribing on them, clearly, the text supposedly found on them. Even going round them, there's about as much writing area as a business card. A Sharpie would work better, not inscribing.

There are so many layers of irony in Kirk’s shooting.

First, an advocate of people dying from gun violence was killed by gun violence.

Second, a person who made his living radicalizing youth was killed by a radicalized youth.

But I think the most striking irony is that Kirk was literally in the middle of blaming trans people for mass shootings when a member of the demographic actually most responsible for mass shootings shot and killed him.

It’s absolutely Serlingesque.

With that idiot brain worm in control of the health of the nation I actually wouldn't be surprised if he didn't introduce phrenology.

I wouldn't be surprised if at some point he also endorsed using blood-sucking leeches to cure diseases.

Thanks, Arth. The most bewildering part of this story is so many people suddenly appearing to know the term groyper which I think I literally never heard before. I'm so in the dark that the explanation above could be completely straight fact or might be an absurd in-joke and I would have no idea either way.

Stumbled across this thread that I think is a nice little primer on what some of this means and what conclusions we can draw from it.

Bottom line: It is unclear if he actually was a "groyper". He might have been, but looks like it's hard to know for sure.

What we do know for sure is that his brain was absolutely cooked by internet meme culture, but the degree to which that ties into politics seems less certain.

if there’s any free speechers left, defend to the death their right to mock charlie kirk

Something I've noticed lately is how completely silent the "cancel culture" thread on this forum has gone.

Everyone who was up in arms about podcasts being canceled and Star Wars actors getting fired gives zero ◊◊◊◊◊ about any of this.

It's most as if they were arguing in bad faith the entire time.

I swear that guy has the brainpan of a stagecoach tilter.

Whoa there, Old West! Dunno about any retarded TV show, but stage coaches
still operated in Wyoming as late as the mid 1920s. My mother, during her
career as a country schoolmarm, had to ride coaches between, e.g., Gravel Bag
and Sour Creek. In her youth she was plump, short, and unaccustomed to walking
farther than from the ranch house door to the hitching rail. Come time to board
a stage coach, she needed help! And every stage station had its resident
tilter, a freelance service provider who stepped up onto the frame and
(tilters tended to be portly men) dang well brung that first step plumb to
the ground, doffing for the ladies and gratefully accepting gratuities.

It was honest work. Not like that decaying offshoot of the Kennedys.
Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I think this an insult to stagecoach tilters everywhere, and I don't even know what a stagecoach tilter is.

Someone who would literally tilt a stagecoach on it's suspension to bring the steps lower to the ground and make it easier to get in. Like a manual version of air suspension on a bus. It was wasn't a job with highly exacting qualification requirements...

His wife is just as nutty:

'No idea what you have unleashed': Charlie Kirk’s wife delivers first public address

Erika Kirk vowed in a September 12 speech to continue her husband’s movement and said that “the cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry.”

It was Erika Kirk's first public appearance since her husband was killed while speaking with students at Utah Valley University days earlier.

“The evil-doers for my husband’s assassination have no idea what they have done,” she said in a livestream on the YouTube page of Turning Point USA, the conservative movement her husband started out of high school in Illinois that has since swept college campuses around the nation...
