Merged Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University event. / Charlie Kirk Shot And Killed

Thanks, Arth. The most bewildering part of this story is so many people suddenly appearing to know the term groyper which I think I literally never heard before. I'm so in the dark that the explanation above could be completely straight fact or might be an absurd in-joke and I would have no idea either way.
You (we) are not its target audience!
This is a good place to start:
AFPAC III: The Groyper Army Seeks to Normalize White Nationalism (Anti-Defamation League, Feb 25, 2025)
Or google "radicalization of young men" or something similar.

I guess something like this isn't extreme. After all, it's FOX NEWS and not the 'radical left', isn't it?!
Political violence
Housing 4 All is Hot on X, Sep 12, 2025
A Fox News anchor saying "Or involuntary lethal injection or something just kill them" about people living on the streets live on air. This and the dehumanization that comes from this - is what political violence looks like.
With a video clip (24 sec.).

The clip can be seen all over the internet, but I haven't found it on YouTube.

ETA: Found it!
Fox News Host, Brian Kilmeade, Says Kill the Homeless (Bill Munny on YouTube, Sep 13, 2025 - 23 sec.)
Disgusting excuse of a human, Brian Kilmeade, calls for involuntary lethal injection of homeless people that refuse help. Why is he still employed? Spread this everywhere until he's fired. He doesn't deserve to be a mouthpiece on any news station.
All three of them appear to have two legs, two arms and five fingers on each hand.

I assume that, from now on, MAGA will send out debating teams armed with arguments to convince the homeless to stop being so damn homeless.

It aligns with other sources. I had never heard the term either so I checked in a few places.

Taking on the Left

Miller: The power of law enforcement under President Trump's leadership will be used to find you, will be used to take away your money, take away your power and if you have broken the law, take away your freedom

So the President is going to take away the money and 'power' of people who haven't broken the law?

You think things that have not been posted, and without any evidence that have even been thought, are more vile than anything Kirk said? That's interesting.

Free Speech that is hate speech is still hate speech, regardless of whether it is protected or not in any given situation. And since hate speech does exist I think it can and should be called out when it occurs. How else do we combat it? For good or for bad, in these times people with big audiences should be careful how they speak because the nut jobs out there hear a call to action all too easily. Just because it's too bad that this is the situation, doesn't mean it isn't the situation.

I don't believe Kirk should have been assassinated for his views, and I truly wish it had not happened. He did deserve to be called out for inciting hatred. And while I'm genuinely saddened for his family, friends, and the people who had to see that, as I said in the beginning ing of this thread, he personally gets no sympathy from me.
I realized I muddled my reply here by not making clear the difference between speech that is hateful and deserves to be called out by us as individuals and speech legally defined as hate speech. In the post above if you substitute "hateful speech" where you see "hate speech" it's closer to what I was trying to get at.

My apologies for such a poor job in expressing what seemed clear in my head.

I remember a time when skeptics were mainly interested in whether something was true or not. Nowadays, many of them have fallen down the rabbit hole of the right-wing 'free speech' argument where it is never about the veracity of something but always about their inalienable right to be wrong.

MAGA people would never run into a Harlem club and shout the N word. Mainly, because they know that it's not a place where they can recruit naïve white guys for their White Supremacist movement. Charlie Kirk certainly wouldn't. He preferred to debate unprepared college freshmen where he would be using the whole list of logical fallacies to get a couple of gotchas that he could edit together for his videos.

In other contexts than Harlem clubs, MAGA influencers love going on TV, radio and podcasts to complain about how they are being cancelled. The irony is that half of those guys have now been cancelled so much that they have found positions in the Trump administration.

Here is a great example of how Kirk should have been tackled, but unfortunately his killer came from a family that is very underprivileged in this respect. Instead of learning how to understand the world and find out what is true and untrue, he got all the gun training and Bible lessons he could possibly wish for.

If Kirk's killer had listened attentively to the Bible lessons, he might have learned a thing or two that would have come in handy in a confrontation with guys like Kirk, but it's not the kind of lesson most Bible teachers are capable of delivering, and if your only tool is a rifle, it is tempting to treat any opponent as a 🎯.
The video is very thorough and often a bit repetitive, but it contributes to getting the ideas across to its audience.

Another example of how to deal with ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ like Kirk:
A few pages ago zooterkin (iirc) mentioned he had a bunch of facebook contacts self-identify as Kirk debate enthusiasts, despite never having heard of him himself. Do you think his contacts are equally familiar with "Cambridge student?" If not, then no, Kirk was not dealt with, nor SCHOOLED. His ilk get rich by feeding and maintaining echo chambers, a scheme in which Facebook is an enthusiastic participant. Gone are the days where everyone watched James Randi humiliate Uri Geller on national TV, fans and foes alike, because that was just what was on.

i think a lot of people, perhaps yourself, think it’s stupid and a waste of time to know what was going on in influencer culture. i see people like logan and jake paul at the inauguration, adin ross hosting trump on stream, theo von, joe rogan, jordan peterson, steve bannon and milo on gamer gate, tim poole and crowder, i see these guys everywhere
