Who says it's porn? The Venus of Willendorf is thirty thousand years old. Humans have been making porn for a long time.

I do.Who says it's porn?
It's No.1 on Pornhub...and requires age verification since the Online Safety Act?I do.
It's tough defining a lot of things with regard to the law. The Modern Slavery Act has run into problems but the UK government still went ahead:yeah it's pretty tough to define porn
It is because I say it is. And UN something. It's No.1 on Pornhub...and requires age verification since the Online Safety Act?
On the other hand, freedom of expression being a human right is a valid reason for not banning it. Why not address that?Difficulties in defining 'porn' is not a valid reason for not banning it.
What you mean is porn is now protected under free speech. On the other hand, freedom of expression being a human right is a valid reason for not banning it. Why not address that?
I asked you a question. It is because I say it is. And UN something.
Children and anyone else do not have any rights other than those they secure for themselves.Children have a human right to access the net without being harmed by porn...
Children have a human right to access the net without being harmed by porn. The world signed up and ratified but didn't deliver...therefore easy access porn is more important.
I've been saying that for a while....you know: no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats it's children.
What is 'that'?that’s a wild logical leap
I think you perhaps aren't aware of the UNCRC.i think you’ve identified a problem, came up with an unrealistic solution, and you’re conflating criticism of your bad solution to denial of the existence of the problem to help bolster your argument.
No, children have rights that all countries bar one are legally bound to uphold.Children and anyone else do not have any rights other than those they secure for themselves.
the post i quotedWhat is 'that'?
I think you perhaps aren't aware of the UNCRC.
If you want me to understand you'll have to clarify.I’ve read the whole thread
If you want me to understand you'll have to clarify.
As it should be, in my opinion. What you mean is porn is now protected under free speech.
Yes, and rights often come into conflict with each other. The solution is to find some balance or compromise between the two rights, not just delete one of them.Children have a human right to access the net without being harmed by porn.
That's a pretty weak argument for a ban. Assuming it even is an argument, and not just more empty rhetoric. The world signed up and ratified but didn't deliver...therefore easy access porn is more important.
And this really is just more empty rhetoric.I've been saying that for a while....you know: no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats it's children.
I cited the UNCRC and that countries are legally bound by it. That porn and social media has been allowed to just do their thing is a de facto 'revelation' that porn has been put first. I didn't call any individual a pervert.i agree that children exposed to porn at a young age isn’t healthy. problem identified.
i don’t think a porn ban would be effective because it isn’t realistic and there are better choices to keep kids safe that also allow porn to exist in its own adult space on the internet as it’s a valid form of free expression. criticism of your position.
now you’ll say i’m a pervert that puts access to porn above kids safety?
