Yes, that's it exactly and the 40% of the US electorate who are MAGA will believe it, and another 20% or 30% who aren't that engaged may see no reason to doubt it.

I'd be interested to see how many Americans think that the National Guard have done a splendid job on the streets of DC. I think it will be surprisingly high. There will be the 40% who will believe the propaganda and another sizeable number who may not necessarily believe it, but who are inclined to support the military.
