Trump's Second Term

Hegseth: "It's the president's decision when on Chicago and what the scale looks like. But the folks in Chicago, folks in Illinois, deserve to live peacefully like everywhere else. Unfortunately they have dysfunctional leaders."

Well certainly the Executive at the national level is pretty disfunctional - as are the majorities in the Legislative branch - but I don't think that's what he meant.

trump is really getting crazy, dangerously so. Just today, he had US military target a boat, killing everyone on it, and revealed troops are preparing to deploy to the streets of Chicago. Again, as a lifelong citizen of the United States, all I can say is-

H-E-L-P!!! P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!

Wonder what will happen when the National Guard get the same orders in Chicago.
Yeah, that's great. Send the National Guard into the one city that probably has more illegal firearms in the hands of civilians than any other.

What's worrying is that everyone right down the line in the DoD, to the local commander and pilot were willing to follow and carry out an obviously illegal order.
AIUI, the majority in the military are staunchly pro Trump and pro MAGA so why wouldn't they - especially when anyone who isn't is at risk of being purged.

Yeah, that's great. Send the National Guard into the one city that probably has more illegal firearms in the hands of civilians than any other.
As I said upthread, it's a win/win for the Trump administration.

If Chicago meekly accepts the occupying force then Trump has won. If there is resistance then Trump can crack heads, kill civilians and claim that he was justified in sending in the military.

In a past discussion of school shootings and what to do about them there was link to a new school that was very proud of its "anti-mass shooting" design and construction, making sure there are no long straight corridors so that it cuts down on the "sight line" of a shooter, having reinforced walls that kids could hide behind, the automatic locking system and so on. It's utter lunacy and they didn't see it.

ETA: Sorry it was a revamp not a new build: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/wor...-protect-against-mass-shootings-a4220231.html
I've seen pictures of a safe room for classes. It has two sliding walls that pull into shape and lock into place. Children rush in there and the teacher locks the door from the inside. All the desks need to be cleared off first. But the bullets would pierce most walls like that.

Yeah, that's great. Send the National Guard into the one city that probably has more illegal firearms in the hands of civilians than any other.
That's kind of a bonus; gives them a reason to indiscriminately fire and occupy.

Not too late. But you gotta do it yourselves. The U.S. is the biggest fish in the pond. A fish that is fully committed to be a bully. No one is coming to help you. Everyone knows what to do. Postings in the interwebs won't cut it.

I guess things are not bad enough, yet. Don't wait until it's really too late.

It's catching butterflies with a bulldozer. All the crims and the local population too will simply avoid the military completely. The troops will see mostly empty wind-blown streets wherever they go. Nobody to shoot, nobody to arrest, pointless patrols. They will have to be employed tending gardens and picking up trash instead. Like Trump’s birthday parade, an utter fizzer.

In which case that's a win of the first kind - military deployment resulted in a return to safe streets, busy restaurants and mothers in parks.

Russia and China friends?

It's Biden's fault obviously.

Pete Hegseth: "Unfortunately, the weakness of the previous administration has driven Russia and China closer together. That's a terrible development of a lack of American leadership and a lack of American strength."

Epstein victims coming out all day. Time to invade Greenland Venezuela.
ftfy The rest of your post is good.

A bunch of women and lawyers at the US Capitol, live on TV. I heard a guy talking real fast and he mentioned "subpoanas." I had thought for a second he was talking about the famous sub-penis of Trump.

After Fauci now.
His pardon wasn't legitimate.

BARTIROMO: It could be that the pardoning of Dr. Anthony Fauci is not legitimate?
COMER: Exactly. That's correct.

The pardon for Fauci was issued on January 19th of this year. The Republican House investigated him a year ago June.

They had six+ months to charge him with anything and failed to do so.
