Border Security was a long-running propaganda piece for a conservative government who wanted to gain public sympathy over a draconian and inhumane policy regarding asylum seekers. It continued under a Labor government that maintained that same policy.

Have you ever watched this show? I very much doubt it.

The shows I have watched had nothing to do with asylum seekers but with people trying to get banned drugs, plants and undeclared food past custom. All are treated fairly.

Here, have a look at the summary of the shows. You might find one with the summary “asylum seekers denied entry because they are asylum seekers” but I doubt it. It’s best not to make ◊◊◊◊ up based on prejudice and assumptions.

They did do a few shows in which they showed the coast guard intercepting illegal fishing boats and a couple that destroyed the boats. It also was a lot about people not having the right visa, or who had overstayed their visas, and a few shows showed them doing raids on businesses or domestic premises looking for illegal workers and immigrants. If I squint a bit I suppose I can see how you could call it was/is "propaganda" as it wasn't critical of what it the various officials did, but it was really merely a cheap to make narrative reality show, a bit of bumf .

(Only know all about it as we'd often have this on TV as background noise when we ate tea so saw it a lot.)

I agree it was a cheap show. My overwhelming opinion is that the customs officers were very lenient, but they no doubt were selective about what they aired.

But to call it propaganda (from both sides of politics, strangely) is utterly ridiculous.

So it is completely understandable why tin-foil conspiracists of all stripes would buy into the rumors of Trump’s imminent, or possibly recent, demise. It builds upon the White House’s announcement that Trump had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which was offered as the reason for his cankles. Big-handshake energy was the excuse offered up for the clear bruising on his hands, despite visible make-up deployed to hide it.

As someone (I believe it was Ted Stoermer) on YouTube said, the US is in the awkward phase right now where the resistance is still planning and organizing, and most people are still looking for a leader. They will emerge. But yes, the US has gotta do this themselves.

In a past discussion of school shootings and what to do about them there was link to a new school that was very proud of its "anti-mass shooting" design and construction, making sure there are no long straight corridors so that it cuts down on the "sight line" of a shooter, having reinforced walls that kids could hide behind, the automatic locking system and so on. It's utter lunacy and they didn't see it.

Right. Russia and China have been driven together in the last 6 months by Biden failing to prevent it. Pay no attention to the sanctions and tariffs behind the curtain. It's Biden who is causing this.
