ICE: Let us in.
Barber: Got a warrant?
<beat>
ICE: We're telling your mom.
These ICE really are a bunch of fascist pigs. No warrant but trying to break into a private business?? Wow.

Yeah, they don’t even have to invent stories about their targets being MS13 members any more. These ICE really are a bunch of fascist pigs. No warrant but trying to break into a private business?? Wow.
Not only are they acting incredibly unprofessional, but from the videos most of them look incredibly unprofessional. Dressed in jeans and t-shirts and their stupid face coverings, barely any official uniform other than that miniature tactical vest, they look like a bunch of college bros about to go to a ball game and sit in the cheap bleacher seats. No name tag, no badge number. Just pathetic.Yeah, they don’t even have to invent stories about their targets being MS13 members any more.
Nope.Your main gripe with ICE agents is you think they dress unprofessionally?...
YepNope.
Again, all your post was about, was aesthetics. Not only are they acting incredibly unprofessional, but from the videos most of them look incredibly unprofessional. “Storming courthouses, grabbing students off the street, raiding places of work, and sweeping through restaurants at prime dining hours are in and of themselves tactics clearly designed to engender fear and sow chaos in the population,” the senators said.
“Doing so in plainclothes, with no identification of their name or agency, while wearing a mask designed to obscure the agent’s face, represents a clear attempt to compound that fear and chaos – and to avoid accountability for agents’ actions.”
Japanese American groups criticized the construction of a new immigrant detention center in Texas at a military base that was used during World War II to imprison people of Japanese descent.
The Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention center at Fort Bliss in El Paso, which opened this past weekend, will be able to hold as many as 5,000 detainees upon its completion in the coming months, making it the largest federal detention center in U.S. history. Japanese American advocates, however, say that the facility, which once imprisoned people considered “enemy aliens,” is a chilling reminder of a dark past.
I think they'd prefer brown tunic. It's who they identify as.For appearances' sake, ICEstapo should wear shiny, well-cut uniforms,
nothing cheap, nothing non-standard. Yes, that would cost a lot, but these are
pressing times. Solution: take it out of their pay. They're patriotic boyos, they'll gladly -- proudly! --
cough up for splendid black tunics and jodpurs and jackboots (iron heels and toe caps, you bet) and solid rubber clubs and castor oil and
Oh god, it makes a fellah proud to be a sojer!
That post also contained this: "No name tag, no badge number."Yep

They look like what they are, government hired racist vigilantes.
Even in a bright shiny uniform these guys are thugs hired by MAGA administration to disapear brown people.
At least some Democrats see the picture.
From The Hill : Senate Democrats press ICE on uniform, mask protocol
Note that their complaint has nothing to do about aesthetics.
Yeah, saw that thrown in as an afterthought. That post also contained this: "No name tag, no badge number."
So the dress “code” is deliberate intimidation, not “unprofessional”. So, H56’s post missed the point entirely. This isn't my fight but I think your post is unsporting: You attack someone who agrees with you for introducing another angle to the discussion. Maybe you think aesthetics don't matter but there is no reason they wouldn't: How people present themselves affects the tone of any confrontation. A motley group of heavily armed, unidentifiable masked men carrying powerful guns is *meant to be intimidating*, and the poorly executed "uniforms" are a feature, not a bug; they are announcing they're not a disciplined police force; they are above petty concerns like constitutional rights. This observation goes hand-in-glove with your point about: that any constitutional protections have gone completely.
They have to be deported right now because otherwise due process might reveal that they shouldn't be.Oh, but you see, I have it from the trumpkins that this is something ICE has to do, because see, we can't give all the illegals due process, that would overrun the judicial system, and it's all of a sudden absolutely critical that we deport all of them right now!!1111
Funnily enough, whenever I ask them exactly why it's so important we deport them right now, I never get a good answer and they tend to make themselves scarce really quickly once engaged. Crime? Most of them are law-abiding and crime in the US is plummeting. Jobs? No one's flocking to take them now that the brown people are in hiding, and the harvests are rotting in the fields. Drain on resources? No, to the contrary it seems they're vital to important parts of the US economy.
So, why? eta: Well, I mean other than 'brown people bad'. We knew that already.
The original Gestapo didn't hide their faces or names. They were proud of what they did, and didn't mind being publicly scary. For appearances' sake, ICEstapo should wear shiny, well-cut uniforms,
