If a man is entitled by fiat self-ID policies to expose himself in a women's restroom, then by design and by definition he cannot be ejected for exhibitionism, even if he's exploiting the policy to do just that. Likewise if a man is a voyeur. Eliminating fiat self-ID eliminates this loophole.

Kind of like how members of Congress can't be charged with the crime of insider trading, because they've created a big fat legal loophole for themselves.

Dude... you just took the extra time to snip out the example I provided which disproves your assertion cold.

The WI spa guy was charged with indecent exposure, which you flatly assert he couldn't have been. His gender was not at issue in the trial.

The WI spa guy isn't the only rubric. Also, he worked very hard to be as aggressive and confrontational about it as possible. Women in women's restrooms shouldn't be forced to wait until it escalates to that level, before ejecting an unwanted man.

For me, it boils down to this: There's no good reason to grant fiat self-ID access to transwomen. There's some obvious drawbacks to doing so. Therefore, it should not be done, no matter how much effort you put into arguing that it's not that bad, or that the thing that never happens only happens a little bit, to other people in other places. You can believe you've reached the correct conclusion all you want. But the reasoning you've presented here doesn't lead me to the same conclusion. Never will. We're always going to be on opposite sides of the ballot box, on this issue.

For me, there is very little reason not to.

There are sexual predators everywhere. Including Wall Street and the White House. A women's rest room provides no more safety than a changing room at Bloomingdale's.

There is a class of opportunistic predators that are enabled by fiat self-ID policies, and that have emerged in response to such policies. Reversing such policies will eliminate this new class of risk. Enabling predators is a good reason not to implement fiat self-ID.

What's your good reason for implementing fiat self-ID? Is it a medical reason? Something to do with mental health?

It has nothing to do with the dignity of women. You're kidding yourself if you think it is. We're talking about a public restroom. And if it's like every women's restroom I'm familiar with it has private stalls.

What you and others are completely missing is that male sexual predators are, amongst other things, usually cowards. One or two women, empowered with the right to tell a man to get out, would see him quickly slither out.

I don't buy that. They are opportunists. I don't blame people for not liking it. I don't like churches and Christians trying to tell me the good news. But it would probably be a mistake to outlaw them.

Exactly. There's a reason this particular class of predators didn't emerge until they felt they had some social and legal protections.

We can and do outlaw churches. There are certain places they cannot go, and from which they can be legally evicted. We even make distinctions between "serious" churches and frivolous ones.

Sure. But you can't walk into a women's restroom and creep on them with impunity. Not all sexual harassment is assaultive. We're talking about voyeurs and exhibitionists. Autogynephiliacs who get off on exposing themselves to women. These types of predators are very difficult to police, in an atmosphere of fiat self-ID. But that doesn't make restrooms feel any safer or more comfortable to the women who rely on them.

Men who demand access to safe spaces for women whenever they want, whether women like it or not, should not be tolerated.
