As recently as ten months ago, I could never EVER imagine writing those words: "America turns it's back on democracy and pivots to one-man authoritarian rule." Yet here we are, living a total nightmare. Even though I expected a nightmare if trump somehow got back in office, this is so much worse than I could have ever imagined. America turning its back on democracy and embracing authoritarian rule? No way I could have ever imagined that.

What I assume will never be answered by Truth Social, how many of those likes and re-posts are bots set up specifically to keep his numbers artificially high.

The real question is how anyone could still think the question of which is stupider could still be a real question.

@theprestige might be pointing out that each of Putin's flights took about two hours longer than Trump's flights, so this summit wasted more of Putin's time than Trump's. That might well be the most convincing way to spin this summit as a win for Trump.

Yeah, I figured he might be talking about flying time. After all, it’s well known that time in a jet is a total waste, it’s not like you can do any work while on a jet. Putin’s staff keeps him handcuffed, blindfolded and wearing ear plugs. He can’t review bot operations, or be briefed by generals in the air. Reading is out of the question, obviously.

But then he gets the two hours back, and it’s exactly as if he never went anywhere and nothing ever happened. Which probably is sorta the truth.

I was watching Trump’s follower count every week while I still could do so without registering, and on average there were about 100k new followers added per week. If I remember correctly, just after the election he had roughly 3.5M followers, and about 2 months ago he had 10.3M followers.

Considering there are about 2M active users on the site, I think we can ballpark that at least 70% are bots.

The White House is focused on what's important.

The White House asked Ukrainian officials if President Volodymyr Zelensky will wear a suit to his meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office on Monday, two sources with direct knowledge tell Axios.

Zelensky's outfit became an issue ahead of his previous Oval Office meeting with Trump in March, which exploded into a diplomatic fiasco.

Trump didn't like Zelensky's military-style attire. He offered a sarcastic aside — "he is all dressed up today" — when he welcomed him into the West Wing.

Some U.S. officials thought at the time that the suit issue contributed somewhat to the disastrous outcome of the meeting.

The sources said Zelensky will show up at the White House on Monday wearing the same black jacket he wore to a NATO summit in the Netherlands in June. "It is going to be 'suit-style' but not a full suit," one of the sources said.
