A federal appeals court said Wednesday that President Trump's executive order curtailing birthright citizenship is unconstitutional.

The policy, which has been the subject of a complicated monthslong legal back-and-forth, is currently on hold. But Wednesday's decision appears to mark the first time that an appellate court has weighed in on the merits of Mr. Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship for many children of undocumented immigrants by executive order.

A panel of judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit wrote that Mr. Trump's order is "invalid because it contradicts the plain language of the Fourteenth Amendment's grant of citizenship to 'all persons born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof.'"

Interesting. But not any kind of smoking gun. It was common knowledge was named in the files; apparently the WSJ reported that in May. What is a little off is that he'd had a briefing with Bondi and a reporter asked, "Did she tell her your name was in the files?" He said 'No, no it was a very quick briefing.

This is bugging me. I could have sworn there was already a huge deal made about this years ago. And that the question was, are Russians trying to interfere with the election. I remember various diplomats being named. And BTW Trump's publishing the AI video of Obama being hauled out of the White House in handcuffs and thrown in jail meets the definition of libel. Obama may not want sink to the level of litigation but he'd have a good case. Could it hurt Obama's reputation? That's one of the elements, and I think it could, at least a little. Or maybe not.

I think that you misinterpreted a bit. To quote the last two paragraphs -

The Trump administration has set up a system ripe for abuse. It has used deportation procedures to send migrants to facilities like El Salvador’s brutal CECOT prison. Detainees at those facilities have revealed scenes they compared to a “horror movie,” including repeated beatings and denial of basic medical treatment.

The memo reportedly reveals another dysfunctional link in the immigration system being put in place under the Trump administration, one which could easily lead to more crime and increased danger for Americans and their families.

In other words, it's saying that the memo reveals another aspect of the problems that the Trump Administration is causing, referring to the redirecting of large portions of personnel away from essential tasks for American safety and to a task that is rather dramatically not essential to American safety and invites abuse of Americans.

Trump has just announced a 15% tariff deal with Japan. He ◊◊◊◊◊ up yet again.

A 15% tariff will mean products imported to the US from Japan will still be more than competitive. GM for one is apoplectic about this. In return Japan has opened its auto markets to US cars. Guess what idiot, Japan does not want US cars. Why would they when the local product is far more superior.

The US brands of cars for use in Japan would need to come from England or Australia. The left driving thing. We do not make a lot of left driving cars. Moslty SUVS for the wealthy English. A good number of cars from Japan go to Australia when used.

They won't be made here in Australia. We have exactly zero car assembly plants. Many of our "Japanese" cars come from the UK, e.g. Nissan from Sunderland.

And FYI, just about every "sedan" sold here is an SUV.

The "adults" in the administration 2016-2020 who allegedly stopped him acting on his basest instincts are no longer there and this time he, and his handlers, have complete control over the justice system.

What's to stop him sending the FBI to arrest, or some ICE goons to arrest and deport the illegal immigrant Barack Hussein Obama ?

Why would he want to control the borders when his appeal to his support base relies on making a big show of rounding up and deporting "illegals"?

It's because he tells them that he absolutely would be doing these things if only the Deep State wasn't hamstringing him at every opportunity - and they believe it because they blame "others" for all the things they failed to to and achieve.
