Trump's Second Term

Let AI harvest the fields
"I can't physically harvest your crops — no arms or tractor here! But I can help you plan the harvest, optimize schedules, calculate yields, or even write a checklist for your crew. Just let me know what kind of crops you're working with and what kind of help you need."

ChatGPT's answer when I asked it "will you harvest my crops" just now.

No ◊◊◊◊.
That's the astonishing thing. Absolutely nobody saw this coming. Not even the dear leader. Not even AI.

Everyone knew that America's menial job market runs on a non-citizen underclass but who could possibly have foreseen that if you begin arbitrarily arresting and disappearing thousands of them and setting up concentration camps for them the rest will run away in fear and their jobs won't get done and eventually that might be a problem?

Not a single person in the world saw this problem. Not until the high IQ genius Trump did. And then he did ◊◊◊◊ all to stop it. So I guess it must be fine, really. Trust his brilliant instincts.

But the illegals bring crime and that's an increasingly horrific crisis! No, wait, crime in the US is plummeting, so that can't be it. But they're taking our jobs! No, hold on, no one seem to be flocking to take the jobs that are free now that the brown people are gone. But, but, but... Uhm, they're eating the dogs! They're eating the cats!!11 I've seen photos of the Führer with lots of cats on his private jet!

Added to that, ICE are grabbing anyone they think "looks illegal" and they disappear into a system designed to generate revenue for private companies and not to provide justice. So even workers in the USA legally are going to be damned nervous about being in public.
Congress must be spinning in its grave.
Lots of Americans will look seriously at leaving the USA to work long-term in Canada, or Mexico, or even farther afield. Somewhere with sane, stable, consistent work prospects. And even consider not coming back, ever.

So, too, will many prospective immigrants. But "fix the border" job done, MAGA, I guess. The price of your stupidity is all of the USA's food rotting and wasted on the ground. So ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ starve, morons.

I'm slightly reminded of Mao's Great Leap Forward idea of telling peasant farmers to kill all the birds so they wouldn't eat the crops, the result of which was the birds weren't there to eat the insects, whose populations exploded and ate the crops instead so millions of Chinese people starved.

Here Trump has imposed tariffs which mean a lot of US crops which usually get exported to China never got planted this year, as they had no market. Then Trump killed USAID so more US crops which normally get sold to that program never got planted either, and now Trump has driven away the workers who harvest and process other crops, so those will just rot in the fields.

I sure hope there's a lot of resilience and contingency built into the US food supply because it's going to be tested by Trump's shenanigans.

Instead of telling the masses to smelt pig iron in their backyard furnaces, Trump will convince them to mine cryptocurrency.

Crypto-mining requires LOTS of compute power and thus LOTS of electricity. So when solar goes offline and everyone has to rely on chopped wood for heat and light at night, I'm wondering how fast and how long you would need to pedal a stationary bicycle with a generator attached to mine even one coin.

On the plus side, that irrigation water for northern California that Trump ordered be thrown away into the sea in January may not be missed after all.
See, it's all going according to God's (read Drumpf's) plan.

"Everyone in Federal agencies, stop using your computers for whatever you were using them for and start mining crypto coins immediately! I call it the Perfect Jump Forward! Big burly Alpha men come to me with tears in their eyes saying..."

Nah, we're switching to coal! Clean, abundant coal!

Paramount drops to their knees, opens wide and swallows:

CBS parent company Paramount announced on Tuesday that it would pay President Donald Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit against the company over a 2024 interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

The $16 million “includes Mr. Trump’s legal fees and costs and that the money, minus the legal fees, will be paid to Mr. Trump’s future presidential library,” according to a Paramount statement obtained by the New York Times,

Paramount will also “release transcripts of ’60 Minutes’ interviews with eligible U.S. presidential candidates after such interviews have aired, subject to redactions as required for legal or national security concerns,” according to the Times, which reported that the settlement would not include an apology to Trump.

Paramount drops to their knees, opens wide and swallows:

Paramount has a big merger deal in the works that Trump's FCC can block. So they have decided to offer Trump a bribe. Once that is decided, the question becomes what form the bribe takes. Here, it takes the form of a "settlement" in an obviously bogus lawsuit. Any story that covers the settlement but does not mention the merger is crap.
