Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

If only we'd left Iran alone to enrich Uranium to weapons grade they would've... what? How would that have been better?
If only we had an agreement in place to allow outside inspection to ensure that none of the uranium was being enriched to weapons grade. If only the other signatory to the treaty hadn't elected a petty manchild who tore it up because he had a grudge about the Black guy whose shoes he was incapable of filling. If only the Israeli courts hadn't allowed the most recent set of appeals to Netanyahu's corruption trials so he'd already be behind bars by now instead of starting yet another war to delay it. If only the Secretary of Defense weren't an incompetent drunk more concerned about chatting on Signal than actual intelligence.

There's a lot of if-onlys here.

Nitpick. There was no treaty. Presidents can't rip up actual treaties. Somehow "the Black guy" never got around to having Congress ratify his happy thoughts. Maybe he just assumed the color of his skin would be automatically binding on all his successors, in perpetuity.

Yeah they went to all the trouble of moving their enrichment program under a mountain and were becoming completely uncooperative with UN inspections because they had no plans of making a device. /s

The inspections did not ensure that. The inspections could not ensure that. They made enrichment to that point less convenient, but not impossible. And they did nothing at all to halt Iran from building the capacity for such enrichment.

And then we bombed them unprovoked anyway and somehow friggin' Iran comes off as the good guy.

If only we'd stopped Israel from having nukes, Israel that demonstrably does attack other countries, then we'd not look like complete hypocrites bereft of all principle, other than tribalism and pragmatism-based-on-tribalism, when we, rightly, stopped Iran from acquiring them.

There was a deal. Trumpie boy broke it. Better if a fool stayed on his golden toilet all day and dropped his pearls of wisdom there.

Let us honor factual reality, who lays dying before us.

Nor answering, nor debating, nor meeting rhetorical challenges, nor formulating responses in good faith.

I sense a pattern: unprepared, unwilling, unable.
Israel is not going to march on the Euphrates. That's just stupid. Forget what they want, they aren't capable of it. They don't have a military nearly big enough to even try. You can slander them all you like, but your claim requires them to be not only evil, but retarded. And they are obviously not retarded.

This is sufficiently self-evident that I didn't think I needed to spell it out, but I guess I did.

Iran demonstrably attacks other countries all the time, with even less justification than Israel. Hell, Iran is even the world leader of attacking Israel for no good reason.

No. Having nukes can prevent aggression by another party, yes. But having nukes also enables aggression by the party with nukes, as Russia proves.

Why are you in favor of enabling Iranian aggression?
would Russia be as aggressive if Ukraine had Nukes?

Sure. I'm no fan of Iran's, or of their proxy terrorists, or the other regressive, authoritarian, Sharia-thumping weirdo states.

But, my point was, and I said this in response to what was said about whether Iran's nuclear program ought to have been destroyed: Regardless of whether Israel is relatively better or worse than Iran --- and it is my view, for what that is worth, that bar the recent/ongoing genocide and the unhinged attacks recently against other sovereign nations, bar those definitely Israel is a much saner state, a much "better" one, than Iran --- I was saying, regardless of that, Israel definitely is no paragon of restraint, and it most definitely should not have been allowed to get nukes.

And, given that Israel was allowed to have nukes, then to destroy Iran's nuclear program basis the exact same risks that Israel also poses, if to a different set of players ---- that is completely hypocritical, and completely unprincipled. Other than the principle of tribalism, and pragmatism-based-purely-on-tribalism. Is what was my point there.
