Ed Israel/US Attacks Iran /Yet Another Country/Iran

You have to be joking. Iran is a second rate country.
the Houthis, using Iranian missile technology, have forced a Carrier Group to expend billions in countermeasures and make sudden evasive manoeuvres, resulting in a jet toppling overboard. That was the reason why Trump agreed on a ceasefire with them.
That was a decent proof of concept that an even more dense missile barrage would actually penetrate the missile defences, hitting the actual ship.
But you are right that even multiple hits would probably not actually sink a carrier.

And what you seem to be missing is that any attempt to do so would be suicide.

But sometimes it seems that critics of Israel want to see suicide. I can’t understand why.

who's suicide?
Like Trump, you seem to labor under the apprehension that there is such a thing as "The Iran" that makes decisions.
Israel has already murdered many Iranian leaders - if they had had the option to launch a strike on a Carrier Group before getting killed, what would have stopped them? You take it as a given that Trump and Netanyahu act often in their personal interests rather than those of their countries - but you assume that an Iranian Missile Commander is more sane and rational than them ?

We are talking about a Regime and its members fighting for survival already, so threatening their lives because of retaliation seems rather redundant and pointless.

Why do you (and Trump and Israel) always assume the Other Side that has to, and will, respond measured and rational to excessive and unprovoked violence?

If you are going to be attacked no matter what you do, you might as well go out doing as much damage as possible.

That is the argument being used against NATO actually aiding Ukraine in defeating Russia. Why would it be different for the Ayatollahs?
Not to mention that this shows that not only Israel is willing to ignore international laws and agreements when it suits them, but the US is too.
And that the US army now clearly obeys Trump, as attacking another country should have been cleared by the Congress, yet the attack happened anyway.

Another very funny post. Iran has been a consistent ignorer of international law.

The number of Iran supporters in this thread is astonishing.

Fox News reported that the US deployed six MOP bunker-busting bombs on the Fordow site.

Despite ongoing hostilities, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) distributed another 1.27-million food portions Saturday across three locations.

Three more hostage cadavers were recovered by IDF inside Gaza.
We await the return of Hadar Goldin's remains.

Revenge! Revenge! Never-ending Revenge!

Revenge? For what? Iran's right to defend itself? Was it not attacked? Oh.... you want to go into the regional history of tits for tats to justify the action?

I and others have already amply shown, multiple times in multiple threads, that Israel's supporters have no stomach for, little alone answers to, its many violations of international law and human rights since the 1940s, all based on fully documented foundational Zionist intentions dating back to the early 20th century, well before the rise of Nazi Germany (the false excuse), to displace a people and pretend they never existed, done in perfect emulation of the imperialism and Nazism of its times.

Meh, historic facts and timelines give colonial goons the heebie-jeebies, thus the eternal dissembling. Israel has only ever piled on reasons for others to find its policies, laws, and actions on the ground to be reprehensible, which is why there are no honest answers to be had from Israel.

Pulled out of the West Bank yet? No? Then Israel has no complaint, is in the wrong, and deserves reprimand. Ought to be forcibly displaced, given the decades of evil. Bravo, Iran. Well done, Yemen. Criminals, when punished, cry crocodile tears.

Israel airspace is open again, as Ben Gurion Airport has begun to resume flight operations starting at 2:00 p.m. today.

US conveys to Iran (through diplomatic channels) that the raid against Fordo was a "one-and-done" scenario, and not indicative of a wider expansion of hostilities.

POTUS is having his usual lunch today: McDonald's.
Double Cheeseburder.

Figjting for survival? They could just stop enriching Uraniun to military grade levels and they would've been left alone to torture rape and murder all the uppity women they wanted.

I'm not sure they are so much Iran supporters as Israel and US haters. And that hatred makes strange bedfellows (for example, Queers for Palestine).

What would be a legitimate retaliation target?
An aircraft carrier?
Pretty likely that Iran could sink one if it really tried
That depends a lot on where exactly it is. They do not have a lot of long range missiles that would work for the purpose. They certainly couldn't get any jets close enough. It would also depend on how much they are willing to escalate. The US has a long history of getting angry when other countries touch our boats, and Iran has experienced that before.

No news on leaks, but the uranium in the centrifuging area is stored in some sort well capped form, as UF6 can sublime out of a bottle.

Fordo: Iran built this site — where centrifuges concentrate uranium to a form used in nuclear weapons — inside a mountain to shield it from attacks. The U.S. military concluded that one “bunker-buster” bomb would not destroy it. So six B-2 bombers dropped a dozen of these 30,000-pound weapons, a U.S. official said. The attack was the first time the military had used the weapon in combat. See how the powerful bombs work.
Natanz: This is the largest uranium enrichment site in Iran. Its centrifuge halls are also buried deep underground, but experts say this site is less secretive and less heavily fortified. Israel struck the site recently with warplanes; the U.S. struck it with cruise missiles launched from submarines.
Isfahan: The U.S. also hit a site that holds Iran’s largest nuclear fuel stockpiles near the ancient city of Isfahan. Israel hit parts of the facility last week but avoided the fuel.
The U.N. nuclear watchdog said it had not detected any increase in off-site radiation levels at the nuclear sites the U.S. attacked. Read the latest news.
Benjamin Netanyahu said that the U.S. strikes had been carried out “in full coordination” between the American and Israeli militaries.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been in a bunker, with limited communication, to protect him from possible assassination.
