Trump's Second Term

We interrupt the program for a quick question:

Are they still eating the cats and dogs in Springfield?
Oh, it has gotten worse--now they are eating their neighbors! But Trump is waiting for the next bad poll to come out to release that news.

I'm thinking the same thing - in fact the idea of putting any Fogerty song in there seems like a subversion - but we are dealing with an administration which is delusively stupid to an unprecedented degree, so what we count as obvious may not be to them. But either way, the result is a monument to their cluelessness.
Plus TACO loves playing the song so much at his treason rallies, Fogarty slapped an injuction on him. I really don't think this was malicious obedience, just TACO trying to pettily get one over on Fogarty while disrespecting the nation's army.

Anyone who thinks that MAGA will surrender power in ‘26 or ‘28 is looking more wrong by the day.
I gave this post a "like" because it's true, but I very much don't like that! I think someone in the thread questioned whether there will even be elections. There will. The Soviet Union had them regularly. That's where Trump is headed.

No, of course your elections are not being stolen by illegal aliens. It's completely stupid. How the hell did America become a place where the president can just make up lies like this and get away with it?
There's always the point that Musk likely counted as an illegal alien.
Far easier to hold elections and then just refuse to accept the results if the vote doesn't go your way. Then again, nothing surprises me about this administration anymore.

Looks like Trebuchet beat me to the general concept. Sham elections are what the Republican Party has been pushing for for a while. Death of a thousand cuts to election integrity and to the foundations of Democracy, some bigger than others. Russia's a bit ridiculous about it, but Trump and co sure look like they're looking at Russia and declaring that that's the kind of elections that they want.

As expected, King Schitler stiffs his troops.

The thousands of National Guardsmen President Trump sent to Los Angeles in an authoritarian power play are working for free.

More than a dozen guardsmen told Military.com that they remain unpaid, as they have yet to receive official activation orders. Receiving such orders would allow them to receive pay, Tricare health benefits, and Department of Veterans Affairs eligibility. Without them, the troops dispatched aren’t getting anything.

Trump’s abrupt deployment of the guardsmen, against the wishes of Los Angeles’s mayor and California’s governor, circumvented executive norms and has resulted in thousands of soldiers who aren’t sure if they’ll be compensated for the work they’re doing. Guardsmen have also complained about their living conditions, as many of them are sleeping on cots at a Naval Base on the edge of Los Angeles.

Forcing people to work for no pay is very on brand for the president. He owes the city of Albuquerque nearly half a million dollars in unpaid safety fees for a 2019 rally. He did a similar dash in cities across the country, racking up millions of dollars in unpaid fees. Some places, like Nassau County, gave up on trying to bill Trump entirely and just ate the $1 million he owed them. Similar instances occurred in Eerie, Pennsylvania; Tuscon, Arizona; and Green Bay and Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. “He’s welcome here, but we need to have our bills paid. Any expenses incurred by us for him being here, or we don’t really want him here,” Prairie Du Chien Mayor Dave Hemmer said last year. “We are a smaller city and if we incurred expenses like that, we expect to be reimbursed. Or we’d say, ‘Don’t come.’” In his private life as a businessman, Trump frequently refused to pay contractors—hundreds have claimed he stiffed them for completed work as a private citizen.

Now the guardsmen are getting the same treatment.
Edit: Sorry zooterkin, I just noticed that you posted this earlier.

I've seen various people online claiming that his car/apartment were full of "No King" flyers, with no source cited for the claim, of course.
I think that I might actually be more surprised if they weren't spreading crap like that while they're both furiously trying to deny and delegitimize the No Kings protests and blame the people that both the assassin and they seek to oppress and victimize. On a similar note -

During Run-Up to ‘No Kings,’ Right-Wing Media Called It an Orchestrated Marxist Elite-Driven Event

Soros gets invoked, of course. Also, well...

In his column, Hotsenpiller wrote that “June 14 is not just a protest,” Hotsenpiller ranted. “It’s a declaration of war—against populism, against Trump and ultimately against the America our Founders envisioned.”

The president was caught off guard by news that anti-ICE protests exist outside of Los Angeles.

Posing for photos with his wife, Melania Trump, on the Kennedy Center’s red carpet Wednesday evening, Donald Trump refused to believe that dissent against his anti-immigration agenda had spread to more than a dozen cities around the country.

“If this turns into another summer of unrest, what are you prepared to do, sir?” asked a Fox News reporter.

“About what?” Trump said.

“Well, the protests have spread now to 16 cities across the U.S.,” she added.

“That’s what you’re saying, and do I believe you? I don’t think so,” Trump said.
“Well, I got that from the Fox News brain room,” the reporter clarified.

That is, of course, a misnomer. Nobody at Fox News has a brain.

I never thought twice about that claim--I assumed he had swiped a bunch of flyers so they could not be distributed. But I could be wrong.

I heard it and basically rolled my eyes. He had No Kings related stuff? It's the kind of thing that's possible, sure, but utterly irrelevant to determining anything of note from the start, regardless of whether it's true or not. That anyone would try to use that to claim anything of note screams of desperation to find something, anything to latch onto.
