Trump's Second Term

Correct. My reason for asking is simply because, not having owned a TV for over 40 years,* I had no knowledge of Donnie Pamperstime** until he was nominated in 2015. I'm still hazy on what in hell he was known for in days of auld lang syne. However sleazy, slimy, trashy, and muddy his life has been, wasn't he at least occasionally better than -- THIS?

* Jesus's mercy, can anybody say that old?
** That's a reference to a TV ad, right? Must be, cuz I draw a blank otherwise. I cruise the diaper aisle pretty fast at Krogers.
Better than this? Maybe. Even his first Administration was better than this, so far, and that was horrendous. It was mostly better because he was being held back, though, not because he was particularly better. He's been a horrible person since he was young, though. He was an ill mannered idiot in school, which is fairly certainly why he's threatened his schools not to release his records. He was raised with and associated with the mafia, in person and in business. He's personally vouched for drug dealers and held a number of... sketchy parties. His modelling businesses engaged in illegal business with models without proper work visas, among other things. He has a history of hiring a bunch of goons to commit crime. He has a history of literally being the biggest money loser of anyone in the US for many years. He took out ads to call for the execution of innocents and remains unrepentant.

All that's barely beginning to touch on how terrible Trump was before 2015. It's utterly insane that anyone would vote for him in the first place, much less given the official pretenses that were in play. The bigger problem, though, is how much he's not being restrained by the Republican Party, on top of that.

Trump is no longer reading anything. So Tulsi Gabbard has to put on a Fox news type of show in front of him, for briefings. Not sure who all is in this show. Just for him. No press.

Nitpick, they only said "The Emperor". I don't think he even got a name until after Return of the Jedi. I just rewatched that and don't recall his name being said in any of the Original Trilogy.
He was first named Palapatine in the novelisation of A New Hope, which came out in 1976, before the movie was released in 1977.

This is truly frightening. This is the president of the United States, the one with his finger on the nuclear trigger.

When are responsible Republicans -- is that an oxymoron? -- going to step up and say, "Hey hold on, there's something wrong here. We can't go on like this." The nuclear trigger. Think about it. All it would take is one really deranged moment and the world as we know it will be gone. Forever. But it can't happen...until it happens. The air raid sirens going off. All the TV shows being interrupted. "We interrupt the current broadcast to bring you a breaking news story!" Then the power goes off.

Shudder :eye-poppi

Other than those kicked out of the party, there are none.
