Trump's Second Term

It's against the law to trespass on an ICE lockup.

When Americans object to a law, they break it. And then they stand and take the consequences.

Good on the mayor for barging in on that obscene zoo. Good on him for being filmed getting roughed up and braceleted.

And thank you, ICEstapo goons, for being so stupidly thuggish.
Wait, so now the mayor DID barge in??? ICE is not lying about that??

You also are not here suggesting people are only doing things for personal advancement and not because storing a bunch of people in a building never built for it could say have problems with lack of sufficient hygiene facilities and the like.

Nope, I'm suggesting that your comment was BS.

BTW, blanket statements are usually (if not always) prevaricated fabrications.

ETA: Makes me wonder how accurate any of your comments are.

Then maybe you should give people the benefit of the doubt that they actually care about what they are doing instead of acting like no one could?
Problem is this event is highly politically charged AND the mayor is running for governor and his poll numbers suck.

This is a skeptics forum after all...

Wait, I thought the issue was that the building was not reconstructed correctly and without proper permits?
That's one allegation.

Now the issue if insufficient hygiene standards for the detainees?
That's the other allegation. There are permitting requirements for occupancy. Both these are being litigated in court.

Regardless, Mayor has no authority to inspect a reconstructed building unannounced.
Oh look, there go those goalposts again.

Ok, he has no authority to inspect a building period. He's not an inspector. He's not, Trump is not, most municipal officers are not.

I am just reflecting your cynicism back at you. Your problems looking in a mirror are your own.
No, Im not cynical at all. Contrary to your beliefs, I think most protestors have benevolent intentions.

But when you're running for governor and your poll numbers suck, things like this dont happen by accident.

This is a SKEPTICS forum, after all.

How did he make sure they arrested him and turn this into national news? If that was his goal as you claim they wouldn't have had to go back out to get him after he peaceably left. You just denigrate him for no reason.

Contrary to your claims, local government senior executives like Mayors have NO authority to engage in building inspections...
The mayor is the chief executive officer of the city.

...especially when the buildings are under FEDERAL jurisdiction.
It was a privately-owned building.

Yes, the federal govt often leases private buildings for office space and other government needs. That puts the building under Federal jurisdiction.

Stop trolling for God's sake. I do not hold such beliefs.
Then think more about what you post. You have communicated your belief that migrants don't have rights quite clearly in the past. Now you attack someone concerned about them being housed in somewhere that may or may not be suitable for housing people in such numbers.

You send a clear message and it seems like it is not the one you want to be sending.

Number 1: I have NEVER states that migrants have no rights.

Number 2: put on your Skeptics cap and look at the big picture surrounding this Mayor. If you think its totally beyond the realm of possibility he had some political motivations for this stunt, then you've got your head in the sand.
