Elon Musk has spread false claims about 'white genocide' in South Africa, and now his chatbot Grok keeps bringing it up on X.

I tried it out yesterday and it did bring up the subject. Since then, all those responses by grok have been removed.

Of course, it does rely on Grok not just making up the answer it models as being requested. Which is a problem with several LLMs.

But it certainly is true about it raising the topic of "white genocide" in unrelated questions

Apparently Musk is getting annoyed Grok won’t say that white genocide in South Africa is a real thing so he’s turned the racism up to 11. Net effect: wildly different issues treat as white genocide. See link for examples.

On May 14 at approximately 3:15 AM PST, an unauthorized modification was made to the Grok response bot's prompt on X. This change, which directed Grok to provide a specific response on a political topic...
