Merged Due process in the US

Rep. Julie Johnson to Noem: "Are you aware that ICE agent jackets are available on Etsy for $20? Anybody can throw a mask on and run around and terrorize people of color without any regard for the law because your agency does not have proper protocols to make sure your agents are clearly identified."

Indeed. You can't hold a law enforcement agency liable for the behavior of its officers, only the individual officer. But if you can't identify the officer, you can't hold him personally liable. This has been going on for many years. In the protests I have attended or witnessed in my city, the local police obscure their nametags and badge numbers so that they cannot be identified. They are, however, still in uniform.

The reciprocal problem is that if law enforcement officers do not identify themselves and are not otherwise recognizable as officers, people in states like mine that have stand-your-ground laws have a legally cognizable right to exercise appropriate (including deadly) force in their own defense if they believe they are about to be kidnapped. When police action is indistinguishable from a kidnapping attempt, the 2nd amendment may start to factor in.

Depends on what Pokémon Ukraine is fielding. I haven't played the game since I was a kid so I don't know any good Pikachu counters.
Something with the ground element will nullify the electric attacks that Pikachu specializes in completely and ground is extra effective against electric. A ground/ghost element pokemon combination opponent would nullify the remaining normal attacks that Pikachu learns, too, leaving maybe one Steel attack that Pikachu could learn without TMs that's not completely negated.

Really, though, without going overboard on focused counters, Pikachu had high speed and good special attack/defense, but quite low defense and HP. In short, the wild ones were particularly easy to drop in one hit with most good physical attacks, so there's a heck of a lot of good counters, so long as you avoid the flying and water types that are weak to electric. Lord Buffalo drummer removed from plane and detained by US border control
European tour cancelled after Mexican citizen Yamal Said of Texas-based band detained, despite having US green card

The Texas-based rock band Lord Buffalo has cancelled its European tour after its drummer, Yamal Said, was detained by US Customs and Border Protection on Monday.

Said was removed from a plane en route to the band’s summer tour and has had no contact with his bandmates for two days, according to a message posted to the band’s Instagram account. Said is a Mexican citizen but a legal permanent resident of the United States, holder of a green card and resident of Austin since the 1980s

They'll solve that problem easily enough, simply declare anybody who stands up to police brutality to be a racial enemy and therefore without access to any rights under state, federal or constitutional law.

He is mexican and has an arabic name each of those individually would be a cause for deportation, but the product of two negatives is a positive, so now he gets detained for trying to leave the country!

They kinda need to make up their minds what they want him to do.

If they don't want Mexicans with Arabic-sounding names in the country any more (despite his having a green card) but they won't permit him to leave either, then what the hell do they want?

Dog killer wants a plane too!

The U.S. Coast Guard has asked for an additional $50 million in President Donald Trump's proposed budget to pay for a "new Gulfstream 5 jet for Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem," Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-IL) noted on X.

"My committee just received a last-minute addition to the Coast Guard’s spend plan: $50 million for a new Gulfstream 5 jet for DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s personal use," Underwood wrote on X. "She already has a Gulfstream 5, by the way, but she wants a new one paid for with your taxpayer dollars."

The comments came amid a hearing in the House Committee on Appropriations subcommittee that handles homeland Security.

At the start of the hearing, she said that the Coast Guard must already do more with fewer resources. She told Admiral Kevin E. Lunday that she "strongly supports... large increases to your budget."
