Split Thread Diversity Equity and Inclusion and merit in employment etc

What do you think "DEI work" entails?
Me or that person? In general or in this case? In general, that depends on the organization, given the... diversity of potential goals that an organization may have. As a general matter, it deals with HR affairs, though. In this case, the person in question could just as easily have either intentionally or through sheer incompetence mistaken things like securing and utilizing a diversity of sources intelligently to get information to analyze as DEI, because "diversity," as they could have referred to HR matters. Assuming that they weren't simply lying wholesale for political reasons, of course, which is perhaps the most likely scenario.

Arbitrary raising all the scores of all black test takers, or throwing out an exam cuz there was a racial disparity in the results, does.

That this continues to be your main gripe - grossly oversimplified as it is - while the dumbest, most unqualified white guys are destroying our country speaks volumes.

Nah. Woke would be denying human biodiversity and attributing any group differences to invisible evil forces.

Always a pleasure to hear about "human biodiversity" from someone who voted for a bunch a dumb white people who are all comically bad at their jobs.

98% of Goldman Sachs Shareholders Reject Anti-DEI Proposals

We believe that diversity, including diversity of thought, experience and perspectives, is important to our commercial success. We are committed to operating programs and initiatives and maintaining policies that promote diversity in compliance with the law. To be clear – there is no place at Goldman Sachs for discrimination of any kind, against any person on the basis of a protected characteristic.

Shareholders in investment banking firms are famously known for their wokeness.

I'd be very interested in any response you have about "human diversity." However, I suspect you'd do what you seem to always do - change the subject to try to make a point.

I’m not aware of any reason to take a Trump voter as anything other than a bad faith moron on this issue (and many others) and treat them as such. This is of course the point you’re referring to, and it’s a salient one.

This is very motte and bailey. No one is against diversity in experience and especially thought. We're all on board with that. It's racial discrimation that we're against.

The OP of this thread is literally about how DEI is bad and unpopular and now we’ve arrived at the point where DEI is also fine.

Trump voters in this thread should get together and make a decision about what it is they don’t like about the things of which they clearly have no understanding. Or just shut the ◊◊◊◊ up forever. That would also work.

No one? Maybe you should actually pay attention to the Trump Administration, then.

They are all for diversity, I mean they've even got redheads on their staff, even a couple of bald white men! How much more diverse could you get?

I think for Trumpists, day-to-day DEI work means not saying the n-word out loud.

Posted in another thread but I think I should have put it here

Remind me which President signed the Women, Peace and Security Act into law?

Pete Hegseth
@PeteHegseth
This morning, I proudly ENDED the “Women, Peace & Security" (WPS) program inside the @DeptofDefense.
WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops - distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING.

WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it; troops HATE it.
Afternoon

DoD will hereby executive the minimum of WPS required by statute, and fight to end the program for our next budget.
GOOD RIDDANCE WPS!

Signed in by Donald in 2017 he was still taking credit for this in 2019.
From a White House fact sheet: “President Trump was the first to sign standalone legislation on this topic, making us the first country in the world with a comprehensive law on Women, Peace, and Security.”

That was some subordinate who went out for covfefe but who was imagined by the failing news media. Anyway, in a totally unreleated incident, our fearless leader saw the light. Actually he invented it. It's the lightest light ever, a bright, white, manly glow. His scientists are, as we speak, establishing its emanation from the luminiferous ether, and his medical team has determined that if you use it to tan your testicles you'll never die.

Once again, just the dumbest white men with zero qualifications for the jobs they were gifted other than being white men, and the people who voted for them are in this thread to let us know they have concerns about DEI.

Imagine, claiming to fight for or support women's rights and then voting for a rapist and adulterer who regularly objectifies and demeans women, has quite the creepy past when it comes to his daughter, already has a history of setting back women's rights by 50 years, and so very much more along those lines. Oh, and voting for that option instead of the *checks notes* woman pointedly fighting for women's rights. One might conclude that their devotion to women's rights might not quite be sincere. But no. That couldn't be it. It's totally justified to protect the US against the virtually nonexistent threat and harm to women caused by trans women and DEI! All it has cost is dramatic, tangible, and all too real harm to women and women's rights that was totally unpredictable for those who willfully blinded themselves!

It's reminiscent of how people can claim to care about the economy so much that they vote for and support a guy who openly proclaimed that he would hold the economy hostage for the sake of forcing changes that would hurt the economy. And then, when he won, gave him one of the highest positions of power in the country, where he proceeded to try to do exactly that.
