Trump's Second Term

Secretary Marco Rubio
@SecRubio
Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the king of kings and lord of all nations. This Holy Week and Easter, I call upon all nations to respect the right of Christians to declare Christ is King.
This comment is as bad as I could imagine from these ◊◊◊◊◊. All non-Christians are hereby condemned. ◊◊◊◊ you Rubio.

Weird, isn't it? An opportunity to say something uplifting about Christianity gets used instead to attack imaginary persecutors of Christians. At this special time of year, while remembering that Jesus died for your sins, always remember that we're the real victims here.

Declare him to be king of whatever you want, as long as you don't make me do it.

Though the language is loaded, its subtext obvious, and Rubio is a jerk and I hate to say anything on his behalf, technically it just exhorts all nations to let Christians do their thing., which on its faced seems a reasonable thing to ask. I suspect a bunch of people sat around a desk trying to figure out a way to make it maximally inflammatory but still have a back door.

Alternately formulated... They do kill birds. Just at a rate dramatically lower than the alternates that the people making a big deal out of that are pushing do. Hence, the complaint should be interpreted as being that not enough birds are being killed. Bird haters.
Same way they typically couldn't care less about Africa, nature in Africa, or black kids in Africa, but suddenly care a lot when they can use them as cheap gotchas against electric vehicles (as if the fossil fuel indsutry and ICE vehicles haven't also got horrible production chains), which they also have this irrational oil industry-fueled anger towards. I swear, 90% of their grievances are things that they don't really care about and that don't affect their lives the slightest, but that some personality has just told them to be pissed at.

Gotta milk that persecution complex for all it's worth, too.

How many nations of the world are there in which the right of a Christian to declare their belief that Christ is king is currently denied?

He also wants all non-Christian nations to allow it.

Of course Rubio isn't such a fan of non-Christians being effusive.

So Trump has chickened out of his extortion letter to Harvard. It was sent "without authorisation". I wonder who gets thrown under the bus? Has to be someone at least as senior as its signatories, as they can't very well push the blame downwards.

That list cannot be correct. The US is not in its own red category and judging by how upset xtians generally are, I am quite sure they are the most persecuted lot on the planet. They are all collateral damage in the war on Christmas just for starters.

Defense Secretary Otis Campbell fires top staffers:

An exodus of top staffers reporting directly to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is apparently roiling the Pentagon as part of a growing investigation into potential leaks.

Politico reported Friday that three senior Pentagon officials have now been fired as part of the leak investigation: Hegseth senior advisor Dan Caldwell, deputy chief of staff Darin Selnick and Colin Carroll — who was Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg's chief of staff — have all been officially terminated. And Joe Kasper, who was Hegseth's own chief of staff, is now leaving the Pentagon for a separate job in the Pentagon.

With these staffing changes, the top United States military official is now without a chief of staff, a deputy chief of staff and a senior advisor, less than 100 days into his tenure. An unnamed "senior defense official" suggested to Politico that Hegseth made poor choices for who to trust in his inner circle, with another source saying there would likely be more "chaos" to follow in the coming days.

“There is a complete meltdown in the building, and this is really reflecting on the secretary’s leadership,” the source said. “Pete Hegseth has surrounded himself with some people who don’t have his interests at heart.”

Additional firings may be announced soon. According to CBS senior White House reporter Jennifer Jacobs, "at least one uniformed Pentagon official" was also fired in addition to Hegseth's top aides. Chris Meagher, who was assistant Defense secretary for public affairs during former President Joe Biden's administration, opined that the exodus of top staff at the Pentagon was proof that the former part-time weekend Fox News host may not be capable of heading the Department of Defense.

"Everyone knew that Pete Hegseth did not possess the leadership qualities, background, or experience to be Secretary of Defense,” Meagher told Politico. “Everything we’ve seen since then — the firing of several American heroes because of perceived lack of loyalty, the sloppiness of Signalgate, the complete lack of transparency, and now several political staff being shown the door — has only confirmed he doesn’t have what it takes to lead."

This is what happens when Thunderbird is your master.

Also sprach Laura Loomer:

LAURA LOOMER (HOST): This DEI hire by Scott Bessent just wants to, you know, proclaim that Donald Trump should resign or that he should be impeached because he was fighting for election integrity and fighting against the stolen election of 2020. I thought that we were getting rid of DEI, and then we get to have these uppity Blacks just walk into the Trump administration and start making demands and acting like they run the Treasury department, and that they should have, like, an active role in the Trump administration while they sit around and try to undermine every initiative that Donald Trump has worked on. And they run to the media and trash him, and they post these snarky tweets attacking him and his advisers. I mean, we were told that, the Trump administration was getting rid of DEI, and this guy's entire focus is running a foundation with a focus on appointing Black people to positions of power. In what world are we gonna just appoint people to positions of power or encourage people to be made executives or CEOs in our country because they're Black? I mean, this is not an extension of the Obama administration.

This is what she's pissed about:

Not shown is the black category for Extreme Persecution, where Crhistian parents and children have to contend with people saying Happy Holidays, the occassional boob on TV, and books about kids with freckles in child libraries.

This nonbinary person, Tab, was featured by the Norwegian state broadcaster for having 'fled' TX due to fear of persecution for being gay, brown, and nonbinary. She's documenting her journey on her TikTok channel Enbyeuphoria.

Edit: forgot to translate: "Tab has fled the USA to Norway: -In the worst case I'll be killed

We knew it was coming, but hearing reports of refugees (albeit self-described in this case) fleeing persecution, or fear of persecution, from the USA still really hits me in the feels.
