For anyone questioning or criticizing the police at my townhall last night, the GREAT police officers conducted themselves in textbook fashion and protected every single person there by keeping the peace!!!!!

These protestors were deranged and aggressive and lost control of themselves the second the townhall started.

And the press knows it because it happened right in front of them!!

If this had been a Democrat townhall, the headlines on national news would have been things like;

“DERANGED MAGA INSURRECTION AT DEMOCRAT TOWNHALL!”

But instead they are; “Man tased at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s townhall”

We have tons of video footage that absolutely proves the protestors were unruly and fighting and resisting police.

I 100% support our heroic police officers for the incredibly difficult job the do every single day.

There are few jobs that are as hard as theirs, not only on them but their families as well.

Police officers should make more money, have better pensions, and deserve everyone’s gratitude and respect!!!

Blessed are the peacemakers, because they will be called sons of God.

From my observations about how members of the last Conservative governments handled Brexit, a lot of it is performative. Many of the most ardent advocates of a hard Brexit were the same politicians who had campaigned for Remain and even wrote articles correctly predicting the impacts of Brexit. Presumably the chance of a better short term political career (or in the case of Truss very short term but with a nice pension) Trumped their qualms due to their knowing it would be disastrous for the country and presumably their longer term reputation.

I have no reason to doubt that similarly power-hungry rightwing* politicians in the US would prioritise anything above short-term personal political advantage.

*I hesitate to call them "conservative" in either side of the Atlantic as they are radicals, but without the good intentions (however misguided) that many radicals have.

The Libertarian Party of Travis County, Texas, has passed a resolution calling for President Donald Trump to be impeached, accusing him of issuing "lawless, dictatorial pronouncements" that "violate the constitutional separation of powers."

The resolution cited the Trump administration's inability to get Kilmar Abrego Garcia returned from an El Salvadoran prison, threats to send American citizens to foreign prisons and its deportation of legal U.S. residents "due to their political viewpoints."

Newsweek contacted the Libertarian Party of Travis County and the national Libertarian Party for comment on Wednesday via email outside of regular office hours.

Not even that. Radical right wing authoritarians.

They are not trying to take us back to a past but take us to the sort of future imagined by various US science fiction authors (Jerry Pournelle for example, or Ayn Rand - which needed a perpetual motion machine to make her imaginary society work)
