Trump's Second Term

They have both their high reputations and plenty of influential allumni, which probably gives them more sympathy and better protection from arbitrary retribution than a law firm most people never heard of before.
Yeah, plus law firms don't have multi-billion-dollar endowment funds.

Big tough doctors with tears in their eyes said “sir, we’ve never seen someone point to the elephant that fast.”

Trump: "I took my cognitive exam as part of my physical exam, and I got the highest mark, and one of the doctors said, 'Sir, I've never seen anybody get that kind of, that was the highest mark…I like taking it because it's not too tough for me
To take”

This week on "Presidents Say The Funniest Things"

The sign of insecurity. His mommy never nursed him. And his daddy beat him when he soiled his diapers.

The first one is right, the second, Fred Trump didn't care enough to beat him, he learned from watching his older brother being repeatedly humiliated and broken down by their father that only being 'better' by lying an belittling others was good enough for Daddy.

Hey - that's quite an unfair characterisation of Fred Trump, he also repeatedly humiliated Donald!

Why would NATO Article 5 be part of the discussion between Putin and Witkoff on Ukraine (a non-NATO member)? Does it mean that Putin wants to limit US Article 5 obligations to other NATO members.

Donald will move on from betraying Ukraine to betraying the Baltic States

That is a quite the diplomatic breakthrough there. Only Trump/Witkoff could achieve it.

Well, there's that, and I think the Trumpys may have overplayed their hand with their latest demand letter to Harvard. It was basically, "It's our school now, you only do the day to day operations. Agree to this and you can keep the money." You can find a copy of the demand letter here. It's worth a read to see how freaking nuts it is.

The anti-DEI folks are all in favor of enforced "viewpoint diversity", i.e., all in favor of DEI when it comes to hiring conservative faculty members or accepting conservative students.

I couldn't help but notice that. I was confused when they suddenly started talking approvingly about the need for diversity, but then realised they meant there would be checks to make sure the university had recruited more conservatives. How that was to be measured I can't imagine.

They knew Harvard wouldn't comply with their bat ◊◊◊◊ crazy demands. They don't want Harvard to comply. They want Harvard to deny their idiotic demands so that they can continue to attack Harvard and other non-compliant schools.

Unfortunately, unlike Harvard, most universities and colleges don't have a $50,000,000,000+ endowment fund. Herr Schitler is denying them $2.2 billion in grants and other funds. Harvard will do just fine without it; I'm sure they take in more than that every year from their fundraising. But smaller schools need the grants and other funds. For some, it's comply or die.

I saw this morning that MIT has also told Herr Schitler to take a hike. I hope many others do too.
They want a dumbed down electorate.

Harvard could lose Tax Exempt Status.

Donald want's to revoke Harvard's tax exemption because it is, he says, not a place of education but one of political indoctrination.

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump
Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting Sickness?
Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!/quote]

Let's see your taxes, felon.

Not according to Mary Trump, Fred spent a literal fortune making Donald look like a success while keeping his own part in it as quiet as possible. Apparently the only time Donald was brought down was when Fred Jr got so annoyed at a family dinner he tipped a bowl of mash potatoes on Donald's head. A childhood occurrence that apparently still got him all pouty when it was mentioned at a family event at the Whitehouse decades later.

Go to the locker room and count the hoods?

CANADIAN REPORTER: President Trump's tone on Canada has shifted. He stopped talking about Canada becoming the 51st state, at least publicly.

LEAVITT: I would reject that the president's position on Canada has shifted. Perhaps he just hasn't been asked about Canada.
He believes Canadians would benefit from becoming the 51st state

Trump to Fox: "You know, in the old days -- about 1870 to 1913 -- the tariffs were the only form of money."
Had Biden made that sort of gaff, you would hear people on Fox, Newsmax, and other right wing sources talk endlessly about how it is evidence that "Biden has dementia".

For some strange reason we aren't hearing the same sort of response when Trump made that mistake. I wonder why.
