Transwomen are not Women - Part 15

The Republicans hammered the trans issues big time in the last few days before the election. Even trans-advocates themselves acknlowlege that their approach has turned people off.
Pretty troubling that the American electorate would prefer full-autocrat fascism, gross inequality and poverty to get transgender individuals out of junior high school triathlons or whatever.

I’m sure watching Elon Musk fascist salute was a triumph of the will over the forces of darkness represented by his own flesh and blood child.

To me some of this smacks of the right not practicing what they preach. He could have just picked up the phone.

But also well done for confirming what Mycroft was saying that much of this is a liberal-conservative split.

If you are biologically male, but this "core ID" of yours is telling you that your sex is anything other than male, then you have a mental illness... or as you put it, "a crossed wire up there"!
If it is the case that trans people have a mental illness it would at least appear that they are victims of their physiology of some kind.

But then it would still be an objective case that there are trans people. Then it becomes a question of policy but it seems unfair to saddle them with “blame”.

Also, that would allow the possibility that there are genuine trans people and fake trans people. The ones with the mental illness are genuine and the ones who are pretending just to perve on women in changing rooms, etc… are the fake ones.

It staggers me just how hateful people can be. None of this really affects any of you. No one is saying you have to suck a dick. Or wear women's clothing. How hard is it to treat others as they want to be treated? Is basic humanity and kindness to others too difficult?

My bet is almost none of you actually personally know anyone who is Trans. Yet the same people repeat the same prejudiced remarks day after day, week after week, month after month. As if the tiny few Trans people out there makes any of your lives worse.
Do you think men should be entitled to override sex segregation whenever they want?

Because that's what we're talking about.

You lose your bet again.

Your rant is incredibly lame. Lots of highly presumptuous hot air and no specificity.

You do realize that there are issues of public policy that must be decided at some point and that point seems to have arrived. We all know the major ones--which bathroom, which sex on the driver's license and passport, which sports team, which prison, which changing rooms. None of these are easy issues and I would point out that none were particularly controversial fifteen years ago, because nobody back then would have dreamed that the TRA position would be adopted wholesale by the left-of-center parties in such a short period of time.

You lose your bet again. I know two transwomen.

And you are doing the same thing many in this tread are doing. Calling anyone who sees problems with self ID prejudiced or bigoted. I suppose it’s easier than actually debating the issue.

A gay man is also not demanding that anyone else go out of their way to enable him. All he wants is to be left alone. Easy enough.

Trans rights activitism pursues another outcome entirely. An outcome where everyone else is required to play along with a delusion at their own expense, with the threat of government sanction if they do not.
Quoted for truth!

Correct, because there is an active social interplay between the transperson and the world. A gay man can just be anonymously themselves, although I'd argue that they fought long and hard against non-secular society and demanded accommodation just to be married.
FTFY

The fight for gay rights was a fight against the religious right, and establishment churches. Gay rights were championed mostly by secular liberals!

Speak for your bloody self!! Trans bathroom policies have directly impacted my daughters, both of whom were aggressively accosted by transwomen, one one a public toilet, the other in a public place. They now carry pepper spray - so any person (transwoman or otherwise) who tries it on against them will be dealt with accordingly.

Your ID is your core identity, and it is not variable. It's essential. It's already pushing the limits to accept that the wrong ID is valid in the first place, but the idea of a crossed wire up there is palatable enough. But to say your core essence flits around willy nilly (gender fluid) means you seem.to have a problem.identifying what a core essence is, and that needs to be straightened out.

Non binary means you just aren't taking the whole thing seriously. Anyone could say 'well I don't really feeeeel like a man or woman specifically'. Just consider your junk and say to yourself 'well how I feel right now is the way that a person with this junk feels', and you're done.

Not sure if this is off topic, but it seems to be, so we should prob not pursue it.
Thank you - that makes sense.

However it is an issue for public policy if core ID (and privileges associated with it) is self-generated.

Yup... its misogyny 101 - slap the "bigot" label on any woman who stands up for their rights, refusing to be bent over a trans-rights activist's knee and spanked. Also, slap the "transphobe" label on any men who voice support for those women. Its sickening!

I find it staggering that some of the responses of some of the males in this thread, particularly Americans, hark back to the late 19th century - how on earth did American women ever win the right to vote!!

In the early 1990s my wife sewed a custom wedding dress for a trans bride friend. (Quite the challenge due to her male frame. The bride's, not my wife's.) I baked and decorated a five-tier wedding cake for their reception, guided by a Martha Stewart book. So manly, me! The gay-trans marriage was legal because the illegalities of the time cancelled out. Later, we voted on the winning side of a statewide trans rights referendum, still one of the only ones anywhere ever, so such loopholes are no longer needed here.

(Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last. She's a gamer, and her partner wasn't. D&D, LARPs, Catan, Risk, M:tG, Doom, Myst, the whole sad array. I never said anything but I saw it coming. Some types should stick to their own, you know what I mean?)

Some of the words by which the bride proudly referred to herself are now considered slurs by people claiming to champion her rights. She's appalled by, and feels threatened by, the demands and aggressive behavior of today's trans rights activists. We're all hoping living in such a liberal state will shield her and the community from the inevitable and already-underway backlash to that aggression.

Go ahead and tell me how my opposition to e.g. even a "tiny number" of intact males with sex offender records being locked in with women in prisons, or post-pubescent males competing against girls in women's sports, must be due to intolerance and bigotry.

Meanwhile call people who dont agree with them "weirdos" and "abnormal".

Homosexuality is a crossed wire, too, from the POV that the attraction is to the wrong sex, from the procreative standpoint. But a gay man is not mentally ill by any standard.

Eta: also, it's not "my core ID" any more than your sense of being a man is to you.
Yeah but Gays and Lesbians dont try to force us to change anything about our society or how we speak. Transvolk, on the other hand...
