Trump's Second Term

Yeah, no way in hell I am going anywhere near the US for the next 4 years, and at least until after the ICE has undergone de-trumpification.

Just in case you are tired about hearing about Trump's incompetence involving tariffs and immigration, you can cheer yourself up by hearing about Trump's incompetence involving Iran.

Washington's decision not to coordinate with European nations about its negotiations with Iran on Saturday will reduce its leverage and make U.S. and Israeli military action against Tehran ultimately more likely...The United States did not tell European countries about the nuclear talks in Oman before President Donald Trump announced them on Tuesday, even though they hold a key card on the possible reimposition of U.N. sanctions on Tehran, three European diplomats said.

Brilliant move... don't talk to the people who might have the most knowledge and influence when you are trying to deal with Iran.
I got a sick feeleing the talks are phony, and Trump has already decided at war with Iran.
He is going to find out it ain't gonna be like the strike on Iran in "Top Gun 2".
I have nothing but contempt and dislike for the regime in Tehran: the sooner the Allyatolahs are gone the better; Iran has been a bad actor in the Mideast for a long time, aside from the Nuclear issue And I get a bit miffed at some of the apoligists for the regime, but I also think military action at this time is a bad idea.
That might change, if Iran uses one of it proxy/hired gun terrorist groups for an attack on the United States but I have no conficence whatosever in Trump or his minions handling this.

The attorney for Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who was wrongfully deported to El Salvador, says the government could not answer in court today when asked where Kilmar currently is.

Who thinks he's never going to be seen again?
I'd say it's a fair bet that he may be dead already.

Iran clearly wants to make a deal. They made a deal before, it was the US (Trump) that broke it. If they really wanted a nuclear weapon they would have one by now. It has always been a negotiating card. What Iran isn't going to do is disarm on conventional weapons because if you look at Syria or Lebanon once you are disarmed Israel walks all over you. (Or Iraq or the US, Iran has a recent history of being the victim of military attacks.)

People never seem to grasp that point. Iran has the resources to make a bomb if they wanted, there are multiple countries that could fill in the technological gaps. The Iranians have concluded that the threat of producing a bomb is more useful than actually having one. Trump may end up changing the equation and if the Iranians decide to have one how long before countries like Saudi Arabia follow suit?

Just another piece of vandalism that will go largely unnoticed because everyone is fixated on the stock market roller coaster. Frankly I doubt that if the Democrats do take control of Congress in 2026 they will be able to do much, you can't fix a house that's been burned to the ground.
More of the trumpublic party's war on science. On the other hand, does anyone doubt that SpaceX is gonna profit from this?

Green card holders opposing the invasion of Greenland and Panama can all be deported:

The administration also repeatedly cited a rarely invoked provision from a 1952 law — the Immigration and Nationality Act — which allows the secretary of state to deport noncitizens if their presence in the country threatens U.S. foreign policy.

That headline is sorta very wrong...:cautious:

New lyrics for Tom Lehrer's "Who's Next" needed.

That's the things
: Trump is cutting stuff that the GOP traditionally supports.
Yes! Hopefully it becomes obvious to the GOP that Trump and his klown kar of arseholes share nothing in common with them. In fact, they are almost the complete opposite of them. And that the GOP gets the balls enough to ◊◊◊◊-can these turds ASAP.

That was the shocking thing about the Signal chat. They actually think they are patriots.

That we need the reserach if we are ever to go to Mars seems to elude the Trump whithouse.
I am now convinced that Trump basically hates science, because he cannot bully and threaten Scientific facts.
Nah! They'll just gut all earth/weather science and give what's left to Musk for his Mars pipe dreams.

The Hill reported, "The Social Security Administration (SSA) unveiled Thursday that it would use the social platform X to make announcements going forward, instead of traditional press releases or memos typically posted to the agency’s website."

Wired reported, "The letters and press releases were also a crucial communications tool for SSA employees, who used them to stay up on agency news. Since SSA staff cannot sign up for social media on government computers without submitting a special security request, the change could have negative consequences on the ability for employees to do their jobs. It could also impact people receiving social security benefits who rely on the letters for information about access benefits. “Do they really expect senior citizens will join this platform?” asked one current employee. “Most managers aren’t even on it. How isn’t this a conflict of interest?” Another staffer added: “This will ensure that the public does not get the information they need to stay up-to-date.”"
