Trump's Second Term

Trump brags about his shakedown of major law firms: "We have a lot of law firms that have paid me a lot of money ... they paid $100 million a firm on average ... hopefully I won't need that many legal fees or that much. I may. Who knows? After it ends. After I leave maybe I'll need it, but if I do it won't be very pleasant."

I am neither a lawyer nor an owner of a white whig, but I won't let that stop me from posting my interpretation. As I read the EO, it appears to require a certain group of govt. agencies, most of which have a role in regulating environmental protection and safety (e.g., Environmental Protection Agency, US Fish and Wildlife Service), to include a "sunset" (aka expiration) date in all new regulations and inserts a default "sunset" date of 1 year in all existing regulations. If this interpretation is correct, it enables the removal of environmental regulations without the need to take affirmative action to remove the regulations. With an honest administration, I might agree with your '0' score, but I see the _____ Administration as using it as a way of removing environmental regulations without attracting public attention.

A more authoritative explanation:
President Trump directed agencies that regulate energy and the environment to sunset a wide array of environmental protections in an executive order issued Wednesday night.

He ordered agencies including the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Energy Department, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement and Fish and Wildlife Service to amend regulations so that they expire by October 2026.

The order applies to all regulations issued under laws governing things like energy appliance standards, mining and offshore drilling — as well as regulations issued under the Endangered Species Act.

Brooke Rollins to Trump: "What you have assembled in your vision is a turning point and inflection point in American history. And so just being a part of that is being the greatest honor. Thank you for that."

Kelly Loeffler: "Mr President, on behalf of America's manufacturers, I want to thank you for standing up to the Chinese communist party and fighting for our main streets, for our workers ... main street is grateful for you."

They have no dignity, it's not a Cabinet, it's a group of worshippers.

They're like hostages who are forced to apologize and warn their side in order to get a less painful execution.

Well there is grain of truth in that part at least.

He made darn sure this time that his administration was chock full of cultist ass kissers, suck ups and incompetents.

Well it's not like they have to have any knowledge or skills, they aren't making any decisions or policy, they just pass on his orders.

Navarro about the Dow losing 1,000 points today: "You had the highest rise in stock market history yesterday. Of course there's gonna be a little pullback, it's no big deal."

Secretary of Transportation Duffy: "The president is talking about shower heads. You don't have enough water that can come through your shower heads because of Biden's regulations. So fixing small things like that -- hopefully he's gonna get the dishwashers. Wouldn't it be great if dishwashers worked again?"

EPA WaterSense showerheads deliver no more than 2.0 gpm. Federal law limited the flow to 2.5 gpm since 1992. President Trump has been whingeing about this since 2020.
