Trump's US Threat to Greenland (which belongs to Denmark)

I don't think so. Qupanuk is for Greenlandic independence, but she doesn't seem to be a member of or even sympathize with the (tiny) Greenlandic MAGA cult.
On the contrary, she seems to know that the MAGA Greenlanders are probably responsible for scaring Greenlanders away from voting for Qulleq.

Will Musk and his trillions be unleashed? He could offer each Greenlander a million dollars to sell up and they could all retire to Florida.

Apparently there's nothing illegal about this:
Given that those "cheques" were given to pre-selected prominent republitraitor activists, no money changed hands.

Why was Denmark's score so low in the 90s ?
Nevermind, economic freedom so likely state ownership...
I don't know.
A better question might be: Why was the 🇺🇸 score so high?

Index of Economic Freedom: Rankings and scores (Wikipedia)

If you google Economic freedom index countries, a link to the Heritage Foundation (!) is at the top of the list, with 🇺🇸#27 and 🇩🇰#7.
At the World Population Review, its Economic Freedom Index by Country 2025 has 🇩🇰 at 77.8 points, the 🇺🇸 at 70.1.

On the Corruption Perceptions Index (Transparency International), 🇩🇰 is #1 (score 90), i.e. the country with the least perceived corruption. 🇺🇸 is #28 (score 65). And that was in 2024! I can't imagine that Americans' perception of corruption has improved after the oligarchs started buying elections openly.

The real issue here is, Denmark has had three centuries to clear the ice off of Greenland but has made little progress. The U.S. could do so much better. Make Greenland green again!

Their party leader was the only one to endorse Trampy going into the presidential election. My guess is their MAGAt links are dyed in the wool.

As mentioned in post 651, it might be time for the 🇺🇸 to do something for its current mismanaged colonies, e.g. 🇻🇮 and 🇵🇷, but there is no reason to think that Musk or any of the other oligarchs will take notice of them, except, maybe, to buy Epstein island (Little Saint James) or something similar.

Indeed! But the election results showed that it wasn't a successful strategy, to put in mildly.
I doubt that his leadership will survive the electoral defeat.
Notice what Qupanuq said about Vance in the video I linked to in post 555: "He sounds like another colonizer."

The US score was high because it was economic rather than political freedom and the US economy was subject to very light touch regulation.

I think it has dropped because even less regulation has led to more monopolies, cartels, increased industrial fraud and less transparency.

With an introduction about the most recent Danish-Canadian 'war':
CANADIAN ARMED FORCES: Defending Denmark & Greenland (Esprit de Corps Canadian Military Magazine, April 7, 2025 - 6:37 min.)
Besides tariffing the bejeezus out of the global economy, it seems that US President Donald Trump has increasing designs on annexing Greenland into becoming a US protectorate. Given that Trump has also threatened to bully Canada into becoming the 51st State, it is time to target just how to keep this rogue president in check.
YouTube comments mainly from Canadians, Danes and Greenlanders.

JD Vance Hits Disturbing New Low (Secular Talk on YouTube, April 9, 2025 - 6:07 min.)
JD Vance: Denmark, which of course controls Greenland right now, they've really underinvested in the infrastructure and the security of Greenland.

Kyle Kullinski: Denmark and Greenland have free healthcare. We don't. Don't tell me about how they underinvested in Greenland when we don't even have [ __ ] free healthcare here and both of them have it.
(...)
Interviewer to Vance: And it it seems pretty clear that the people of of Greenland want to get away from Denmark right uh have you seen the poll where they asked them "Do you want to be part of America?" And it is literally single digits!

Kyle: I can't stand these people. I better, I got to calm down. I'm going to say something that'll get me banned.
Did you get the feeling that they are open to being a part of the United States in some fashion? Or what what do you ... I think the first step, they've made it very clear that they want to be independent of Denmark. Now, there there's a worry there, the thing that I picked up on is, they get about $60,000 a year from the government of Denmark. That's $60,000 per year per person in Greenland. What the president has said is, 'We could give the people of Greenland way more money than that again because the security matters to the United States of America'.
He just said Denmark effectively gives every person in Greenland $60,000 a year. 'We can do better than that. We can give them more'.
You dirty mother! You have tens of millions of Americans who are what's called working poor, where they work a full job and they can't pay the bills. We have, it depending on what poll you believe, it's about 60% of the American people live paycheck to paycheck. Medical bills are the top cause of bankruptcy in this country. We have student loan debt out the wazoo, credit card debt out the wazoo, income and wealth inequality through the [ __ ] roof. We got hundreds of thousands of homeless people.
And you're saying, casually on a new show, 'We'll just hand out, what, 80,000, $100,000 per year to the people who live in Greenland.' What about the [ __ ] American people? You sick son of a [ __ ]! So we don't have universal healthcare here, we don't have paid family leave, paid vacation days, paid sick days. We don't even have a minimum wage that's a [ __ ] living wage. Our unionization rate is in the [ __ ] toilet! We got all these problems here, and you're, 'We can give you more than 60 grand a pop, bro. We'll give you, like, 80 or 100 grand a pop or something, bro. That's what we can do. We can afford to do that!'
Talking to a place that has universal healthcare. We don't even have it here, and he's like, "Here. I know you don't want to be with us, but we'll throw money in your face that we could be helping our own citizens with. We'll throw it in your face and say, 'Please can we steal you?" [ __ ] this [ __ ]! [ __ ] him with the wrath of a thousand dicks! Oh my god! I don't know what h at some some point along the way this country lost his [ __ ] mind like the people in power they lost their [ __ ] minds.

Kyle Kulinski is one of the few commentators who actually seems to understand the absurdity of the whole thing. Imagine the consternation if Biden had proposed giving huge amounts of money to foreigners, money that could be used to pay for infrastructure, schools, healthcare and social security in places like 🇻🇮 where they beg 🇩🇰 to help them. (See post 651.)

ETA: By the way, April 9, 2025 was the 85th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of Denmark.

Not sure if it should go here or the general trump thread, but following the sofa king's visit to Pituffik, the base commander sent out a base-wide email calling for unity amongst base personel (which includes contractors from Denmark and Greenland).

Yesterday she was removed from command.

Just days after Vice President JD Vance's March visit to Pituffik Space Base in Greenland, the installation commander sent out an email to the base distancing it from Vance’s criticism of Denmark and its oversight of the territory, Military.com has learned.

Col. Susan Meyers, the commander of the 821st Space Base Group who also oversees the Pentagon's northernmost military base, sent a March 31 message to all personnel at Pituffik seemingly aimed at generating unity among the airmen and Guardians, as well as the Canadians, Danes and Greenlanders who work there, following Vance's appearance. She wrote that she "spent the weekend thinking about Friday's visit -- the actions taken, the words spoken, and how it must have affected each of you."

"I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the U.S. administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday are not reflective of Pituffik Space Base," Meyers wrote in the email, which was communicated to Military.com.

The leader of the U.S. base in Greenland fired after JD Vance's visit

Susannah Meyers appears to have made the mistake of trying to emphasize the unity of all nationalities working at the base, Americans, Canadians, Greenlanders and Danes.
She has been replaced by colonel Shawn Lee.

Space Force Colonel Removed After Disavowing JD Vance’s Comments About Acquiring Greenland (Mediate, April 10, 2025)
Mere hours before her removal, Military.com reported that Meyers had distanced herself from Vance in an email to personnel at the space base.
spent the weekend thinking about Friday’s visit [by Vance] — the actions taken, the words spoken, and how it must have affected each of you,” wrote Meyers in the email. “I do not presume to understand current politics, but what I do know is the concerns of the U.S. administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday are not reflective of Pituffik Space Base.”
She concluded, “I commit that, for as long as I am lucky enough to lead this base, all of our flags will fly proudly — together.”

All our flags? Together? Is the woman insane?!!!
USA! USA! USA!

It could be because of the email, it could be because of "DEI" who knows.

If you're worried about international security, removing the base commander may not be the most ideal thing but then again the Trump administration doesn't care about doing things sensibly.

She said "I commit that, for as long as I am lucky enough to lead this base, all of our flags will fly proudly -- together,"

...and she was true to her word.

While it's bad news for her, it's encouraging to hear that even in these crazy times a person can still be fired on the grounds of a "loss of confidence in [their] ability to lead". Imagine that. Hope for us all.

She probably knew what would happen, but decided to leave with morals intact. She probably also thought it was best to leave before she got the order to supply troops for the occupation of Greenland.
