Trump's Second Term

Anybody who is not to the political left is evil. Got it.
\That seems to be dogma around here, and is another reason why I probably am not long for this site. It has become to oone sides for me.

Not everyone in here is like that, but SOME are just as bad as the maga weirdoes. That small minority makes the rest look bad.

If there are members of the GOP in Congress who don't like what Trump and his administration are doing then they're keeping pretty quiet about it.

They're certainly not coming out to criticise what has gone on. All the comments I've seen have been entirely positive and keep to the official line.

Of course they could be kvetching in private but if that doesn't translate to some kind of action then it's useless.

103. Trump has revoked security clearances from Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, New York attorney general Letitia James, Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg and former federal prosecutor Andrew Weissman.
It's a bit unfair to include this, he probably only revoked their security clearances so they could be added to the national security Signal chat group.

What happened? I didn't see the story.
I'm thinking of this -

Elon Musk’s lawyer says $1M giveaway winners not randomly chosen, which could raise legal issues
Musk had said winners of the giveaway were chosen at random.

I'm not immediately finding evidence of the latter part of what I said, though, on a quick check. I'm quite sure that I saw said latter claim at the time, though it's possible that it was the result of a misunderstanding related to the NDAs, given more specifics on that like -

In trying to persuade Foglietta that the giveaway was not an illegal lottery, Musk's lawyers said the giveaway was not a prize but rather compensation for those chosen to serve as spokespeople for America PAC's pro-Trump agenda.
Young, America PAC's director, testified that he selected winners out of a pool of candidates who appeared in videos for the group and allowed it to use their images after reviewing their social media and meeting them outside event venues.
John Summers, a lawyer for Krasner's office, said the admissions that the giveaway was not random made it not just an illegal lottery but also a fraud.
"If their story is true," Summers said in his closing argument, "it's one of the greatest scams of the last 50 years."
Summers showed the court a clip of Musk at an Oct. 19 Trump rally saying America PAC would randomly award $1 million to people who sign the petition. In the video, Musk said "all we ask" is that the winners serve as America PAC spokespeople.
Young said he was surprised to hear Musk describe the giveaway as random at the rally. He also acknowledged that the winners signed non-disclosure agreements preventing them from speaking about the terms of the contracts.

If it walks like a goose and honks like a nazi ....

What if they don't walk like a goose or honk like a nazi?

Seems kind of stupid to insult people who are on your side, although, I have to admit that most (if not all) of my fellow republicans in congress ARE stupid, lying idiots.

i don’t think anyone would care about an illegal sweepstakes considering the minor treasons these guys commit any given news cycle.

Jesus H Christ. Are you actually reading the damn replies? What most of them are essentially saying is only that what Republicans say about Trump "in private" is no more useful than the ◊◊◊◊◊ they (presumably) also take in private. You're trying so hard to be in the middle by excusing one side that you are the one who is driving the divide. It has nothing to do with "evil," only with results- if Trump is going to be reined in, it's going to have to be by members of his own party taking action a little more practical than muttering to each other where nobody else can hear them.

you know it’s not that this site has become some kind of hardcore leftist playground, thought there’s certainly a few of them around. it’s no coincidence they seem to be relegated to talking about the trans as one of the last few things they have even a coherent position on. imo the thing is, if the right had some great points to make they’d be making them. and i’d be agreeing with them. but they don’t, the right is that ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up

it’s hard to respect the both sideisms in these circumstances imo

There's something to be said about the fact that plenty of Republicans do hold to actual principles that are decent. The Republican Party, however, seems to be rather intent on demonstrating that that means nothing beyond being a smokescreen for their bad behavior.

As for dudalb, he just pulled one of his usual stunts - hyperbolically attacking the left rather than actually addressing points raised in disagreement. Personally, I've yet to be impressed by this tactic of his any time I've seen it, but meh.

Yup, it's too bad none of them run for congress (or the presidency).

I actually ran for an office once, and the BS involved can be pretty daunting.
