Trump's Second Term

.
Admitting mistakes is weak and woke.
Western societies doesn't need more empathy. We need unapologetic outrageous liars.
The Constitution is also DEI, in that it applies to women and minorities for some reason. Totally unacceptable.

The sort of thing that would once upon a time have brought wholesale bipartisan condemnation and someone would have been expected to fall on their sword, now? The Republican attitude seems to be that its hardly worth noticing the sharing of strategic plans over an insecure system that will automatically delete the trail after a few weeks.

Angus King doesn't buy Gabbard's testimony that war plans ahead of military strikes isn't actually classified information

Astonishing that she can calmly claim that information on targets (including names FFS) and timing of strikes is not classified. If nothing else, that would allow said target to vacate the premises before the strike FFS. The level of brazen dishonesty is incredible and yet, in this bizarro world we find ourselves in, they'll get away with it. Turns out the most potent political weapon is a lack of honour or shame.

BENNET: Did you know that the president's Middle East adviser was in Moscow on this thread while you were as director of the CIA participating in this thread? Were you aware of that?!

RATCLIFFE: I'm not aware of that

BENNET: It's am embarrassment

He's right that it's an embarrassment and he's right to rant about it but not letting him reply and continually talking over him is not an effective approach. Call him out by all means, absolutely, but if you demand a reply you have to actually let him reply.

Well the so called checks and balances seemed to depend largely on incumbents possessing one or both of those qualities, or at least the people charged with holding them to account required them.

“How did the apocalypse happen, Dad?”
“The US Defence Secretary sent the launch codes to Liz Truss, son.”

And today's Presser is underway

Trump claims his top national security officials discussing war plans in a Signal group that included a journalist was "the best technology for the moment"

Trump on SignalGate: "They've made a big deal out of this because we've had two perfect months."

Mike Waltz to Trump: "Of course we're going to keep everything as secure as possible. No one in your national security team would ever put anyone in danger ... they want to talk all this other stuff except for all your amazing successes."

"Another question please" -- Trump refuses to answer a question about whether his top national security officials shared classified information in their Signal chat

Goldberg is learning a valuable lesson: when you cross Trump, no amount of Zionist cred, not even being an IDF Prison Guard and covering up brutal violence against the Palestinian prisoners, beating Prisoners himself and using his media influence to push Israeli propaganda against all evidence matters: the country you have been carrying water for all your life will not defend you.

FINNERTY: We're hearing reports that 20 million people could lose Medicaid. Do people right now need to be concerned?

REP. GREG MURPHY: If we don't do something, this nation's finances spiral out of control.

FINNERTY: Are you saying that they should not be on Medicaid?

REP. GREG MURPHY: I don't personally think they're disabled.

So Goldberg was mistakenly invited, but there was no classified material so he was deliberately invited as a show of transparency, even though he's a scoundrel and cannot be trusted and the whole thing never happened because Goldberg is just making up stuff as usual after hacking into the Signal chat where sensitive government business was being conducted. Honestly the ending to Clue makes more sense. Col. Mustard is in charge at the Pentagon.

And back in the real world, battle plans and force assignments are still Controlled Unclassified Information and not to be discussed over unsecured channels. And I love the part where Sec. Hegseth says it never happened, where others say it happened but Goldberg is lying about it, and still others say Goldberg was invited and everyone knew he was there. They didn't coordinate over which version of "Nothing to see here" they were going to go with.
Surprised they didn’t have a Signal group to discuss which lie would be the official story.

Good boy.

Donald Trump Jr.
@DonaldJTrumpJr

Why doesn't Jeffrey Goldberg disclose to readers in his stories that he is a registered Democrat? His wife also worked for Hillary Clinton and has donated nearly $25k to Democrats.

Why doesn't Donald Trump Jr. disclose that he is a cokehead who snorts a kilo every day?

KEILAR: Why don't you want to investigate?

REP. BRIAN MAST: If they start deleting 30,000 emails off their personal server--

KEILAR: These texts are set to delete

MAST: They're not going out there trying to delete something while they're under investigation

KEILAR: You're not investigating them

MAST: They're not trying to delete something KEILAR: How do you know?
MAST: That's what's required

KEILAR: That's what was required of Hillary Clinton. There's a difference between it being required and it actually happening
Kind of amusing how Keilar two sentences pointed out the messages were set to auto-delete, and yet Mast still pretends otherwise.
