Trump's Second Term

"Even though Mike Waltz and Usha Vance haven't arrived yet, two planes from the U.S. Air Force landed in Greenland yesterday, and they brought special vehicles, according to the Greenlandic police."

Speaker Johnson on the security breach: What you did see, though, I think was top level officials doing their their job, doing it well and executing on a on a plan with precision.

"But I was the patient! There was supposed to be an anaesthetist at my open heart surgery!"

I think Jeffrey Goldberg will be going, after all he received top-secret information he wasn't cleared to have.
His defence can be that he accessed it in a designated secure location for classified information, he was reading sitting on the loo.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if a politician said "Yes, I/we made a mistake and I'm/we're going to learn from it and do X/Y/Z to try to make sure it doesn't happen again."

Perhaps the super secret strategy is to convince us all that most politicians are the last people who should be given any power.

I'm convinced!
We don't do that anymore. Lying works better.

Admitting mistakes is weak and woke.
Western societies doesn't need more empathy. We need unapologetic outrageous liars.

I keep wondering if there isn't a way to prevent them coming in at all. You know, like "you can't come into our country because you're on record as wanting to overthrow our government." They'e obviously undesirable aliens. After all, in our own country you can be turned away just for being suspected of being the wrong sort of person, or having contrary opinions on your phone.

That's a lie and you know it!

It's nothing to do with "contrary opinions", it's to do with having the wrong opinions, they can be as contrary as you like as long as you don't criticise President for life Trump.

;)

I rather assume the way to react is just to treat them as ordinary tourists. They can do as they please but can't expect any official reception or special treatment.

The key will be making sure the person on passport control asks "... and what is the nature of your visit?" just in case they say "Annexation".

Tom Homan admits that a number of people ICE just arrested in Boston are "collateral arrests" and hence not criminals. City officials are urging ICE to release the names of all the people arrested.

Well <shrug> they were probably just in the wrong place at the wrong time. But when you're aiming to deport literally millions of people in a rush, there simply isn't time to give every one of them a day in court. It's impossible. So I'm afraid they'll just have to manage without due process.

I mean, if they were in the wrong place at exactly the wrong time, doesn't that sound suspicious to you? Better safe than sorry - they need to go.

Someone should tell Donald the portrait was a crowdfunded Republican initiative FIVE years ago, It had nothing to do with the governor.
I can see why he would complain. The portrait makes him look much too young - even considering that it's five years old.
I don't know if it's just me, but I think that it looks like the love child of Donald Trump and Lindsey Graham.

No, I was trying to put my finger on it--and I believe you are right! It would explain a lot, actually :giggle:
