So what form does the resistance take?

9-11 responders bill

For anyone who thinks that Jon Stewart wouldn’t absolutely dog-walk Elon. After this speech, and a few more weeks of pointedly shaming Mitch McConnell in every available public forum, this bill got passed.

Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder and chairman Jeff Bezos, received about 400 million shares of Amazon as part of the couple’s 2019 divorce. She’s disposed of two-thirds of her shares in less than six years. So far, she has given at least $17.3 billion to nonprofit groups, making her one of the five most generous living donors in the U.S., per Forbes. (MacKenzie Scott)

Chilly day here, but this tiny town in the middle of Colorado had a protest too. Far better than the Trump rally attracted by the dealership's enormous flag that blocked the Mexican restaurant when it was really warm.

Inspirational from Jason Pargin/David Wong: It's not that people aren't angry enough, it's that we're the wrong kind of angry:

Yes, you may be pissed and terrified, but are you the kind of pissed and terrified that gets you to go to town halls, participate in protests, and volunteer for organizations?

The guy aaaaaalmost gets it. But he forgot the angle we are most familiar with: not entertainment emotion, not disciplined-for-the-tedium emotion, but stone cold breaking stuff emotion. That's the kind of anger that gets ◊◊◊◊ done, too.

I'm all done commenting on a republican congressman's FB page. Too much MAGA harassment. The first was Tim. The last one, Lisa, got a FB time out.

Why should any member of Congress vote in favor of a continuing resolution to fund government services that are no longer continuing?

Why should any member of Congress vote to give Trump and Musk a trillion dollars and then let them decide how to spend it — or not spend it?

Why should Congress give Trump and Musk a blank check to continue their pillage?
The real choice congressional Democrats face today is not between a continuing resolution that allows the government to function normally or a government shutdown. Under Trump and Musk, the government is not functioning normally. It is not continuing. It is already shutting down.

Today’s real choice is between a continuing resolution that gives Trump and Musk free rein to decide what government services they want to continue and what services they want to shut down — or demanding that Trump and Musk stop usurping the power of Congress, as a condition for keeping the government funded.
The spineless Republicans will not say this publicly. So Democrats must — and Democrats must insist on budget language that holds Trump and Musk accountable.

The House’s Republican-drafted budget resolution isn’t contingent on Trump observing existing laws. It does not instruct the president to stop Musk from riding roughshod over the federal government.

Let's see: So far the "resistance" has taken the form of trying to shut down the government, vandalizing Tesla vehicles, trying to keep violent/extremist illegal aliens in the country, trying to continue to force female athletes to compete against men, etc., because of a modest reduction in the federal workforce, because tens of billions of dollars of wasteful/fraudulent federal spending have been identified and stopped, because the federal government recognizes biology again in acknowledging there are only two genders, because reciprocal tariffs and other tariffs are being imposed to protect American jobs, because federal censorship of speech has been ended, etc., etc.

Don't like current administration policies? Go win an election. Next time don't run a far-left airhead and a phony combat veteran who describes himself as a "knucklehead," and start respecting women's sports, start protecting children from predatory transgender activists, and start respecting parents' rights regarding their children's gender identity--do these things and you might just win the White House or at least the House or the Senate.
