Trump's Second Term

What, by attacking together as a team of ninjas? That might be fun to watch.
President Elonia got his own team of infiltrators and hackers, so I don't think anything's stopping the Supreme Court from getting a team of teenage ninjas. Heck, with environmental regulations rolled back ninjas might soon be mutants who live in sewers. That'd be rad.

"Why do we always know how the four liberals are going to rule but have to think about which side the Republican judges will go."

That's an easy one, even for Donald you would think. Because the liberals are actually simply upholding the law while the "Republicans" (presumably he means conservatives, but 'conservative' would interfere with the reactionary activism he expects) are left pondering whether their souls will be condemned to hell if they go along with the dictators wishes, instead of actually uphold conservative legal interpretation. It must be quite the internal dilemma...

What we have to internalize is that the Project 2025 program is geared to win Republicans elections for decades to come - Trump is just the useful idiot to do it.
The damage already done to the Government, and what will still be done will take 3-5 Administrations to overcome, causing government services to underperform for decades.
And voters will always blame Democrats more than Republicans for that

GOP bill could ban hairdressers from giving gender-nonconforming haircuts to minors
The bill would allow anyone to sue someone who affirms a young person's transition, and it specifically mentions hairstyles.

The bill defines social transitioning as “any act by which a minor adopts or espouses a gender identity that differs from the minor’s biological sex … including without limitation changes in clothing, pronouns, hairstyle, and name.”

Why do far-right loons always have to be so absolutely terrified of everything the tiniest bit different from what they're used to? What's a "gender-nonconforming haircut"? Hair styles continuously change as do norms for clothing, activities, speech, and behaviour. Used to be women couldn't wear pants, today it's normal, despite people who were probably terrified and outraged of women wearing "gender-nonconforming clothing". Back in the beforetimes pink was a boy's colour. I seem to remember having read that at one point in history it was normal for men to wear elaborate dresses and jewelry as they would show off your wealth (don't quote me on that). In Scandinavia pretty much only girls start riding horses, in Spain it's almost exclusively boys. I could go on for hours about how nonsensical gender societal norms and expectations are.

Sometimes I just want to whack them upside the head with a broom and tell them firmly that "not everything you're not used to is this yuge threat to your culture and way of life that you need to be utterly terrified of!"

At least there's something mildly amusing in seeing Nazi wannabe alpha males terrified of... Haircuts.

My theory is that it's unconscious terror of mortality. Some people attempt to exert control over as many things in life that they can because unconsciously they are aware of the one reality that cannot be controlled: the inexorability of death. It's all always sex and death at the base of things. Or salsa music. Those three things dominate the human psyche and drive all our actions.

Short back and sides for males, long hair for females.

Women no trousers, skirts and dresses only.

Cut a woman's hair short, go to jail.

Sell a woman trousers, go to jail.

Donald on Judges again.
How long until Judges are in jail?
It keeps ratcheting

If a President doesn't have the right to throw murderers, and other criminals, out of our Country because a Radical Left Lunatic Judge wants to assume the role of President, then our Country is in very big trouble, and destined to fail!

They are terrified of anything touching them. And even worse, put inside their bodies. Like vaccines. They are wimps, though, so they take the novacaine for dentistry.

I just realized --what's Jacob Wohl up to these days? With his skills and talens you'd have thought Dump would give him a high-rank position. What a missed opportunity.

Bondi: This judge has no right to ask those questions. The judge had no business, no power to do what he did. This judge had no right to do that..

Wouldn't it be something if the judge would respond like "Bondi, come and get me!"
Just for a change.
Instead of leaving this field always to the MAGA Cult, tease them, troll them.
Instead of always just watching in awe, set the pace yourself.

I mean, the gloves are off anyways. The path has been set, it's just a matter of time.
They want to jail judges? Yeah, let's see their hand.
I don't think the Project 25 boys want that to happen so early in the game. That is something for later, way down the road.

I was only joking the other day when I mentioned state-sanctioned haircuts in a reply to a post likening the USA to North Korea.
Been there. I joked about Dump probably wanting to legalize asbestos and someone had to point out that he was way ahead of me.

What I could more easily envision is something along the lines of a “North American Free Trade and Travel Agreement” with Canada and Mexico, or a “North American Union”, along the lines of the European Union, with unrestricted travel and trade among the partners and a common currency, but with each country maintaining its sovereignty. Stipulated there would be huge hurdles, but I think it would be a net positive overall.

Maybe so. At last check, the existing agreements pointedly try to guard against abuses, either way, which comprises of a major potential hurdle. Driving local producers out of business by flooding the markets with excess production can create security concerns, regardless.

I think it’s only Trump’s ignorance that makes him see Canada as a single entity. In reality, it has 10 provinces and 3 territories. If we ever did come to a unification agreement with Canada, it would only make sense to bring in all 13 provinces and territories as state equivalents.

I strongly hesitate to attribute Trump's words and claims to ignorance. He is friggin' stupid, going by the evidence, but the whole Canada thing screams out intentional malice, with stupidity only even potentially in a supporting role there.

Then again, I’m of the “Imagine” generation, so that may help explain my naiveté in such matters.

Imagine is a fine song and invokes a fine ideal. What Trump is acting towards is a horrible caricature of that, at very best.

Elon Musk continues to prove that U.S. government is just the latest in a long series of things he doesn't know enough about to be considered credible.

As with Trump, I hesitate to attribute Musk's BS to ignorance, especially when he keeps pushing it despite it certainly having been made clear, repeatedly, that it's BS. Intentional malice fits far better than ignorance. That leads to the assessment that rather than simply passively not trusting, he should be active distrusted and his words dismissed with prejudice. It's possible that he can tell truths, of course, but his words should be actively removed from any determination of truth.

Losing parties are forever complaining about the alleged bias of judges.

Sometimes, they're even correct, of course. In this case, though, we have a very deservedly convicted felon who only avoided a lot more really deserved convictions by being elected and those stumping for him tossing about claims like that, which makes it much harder to categorize as simply a more normal losing party thing.

This type of thinking has actually been elaborated within the "Terror Management Theory", which proposes that ensuring the survival of the human race is one of the ways we assuage the terror of death, but simple non-extinction isn't enough -- it can't just be any sentients, any humans, any culture, it has to be our sentients, our humans, our culture.
