Split Thread Diversity Equity and Inclusion and merit in employment etc

Not agreeing with me, I see. Predictable.
My dude:

NYC will pay out $1.8 billion to minorities who failed ‘racist’ teacher test

Court rulings determined the exam violated the law because it “allowe[ed] far more white candidates to pass,” The Post reported.

More than 90 percent of white people who took the 80-question multiple-choice quiz earned a passing score, according to The Post. However, black applicants had a pass rate of between 51 and 62 percent, and Latinos passed 47 to 55 percent of the time.

For some reason, it upsets you when people oppose lowering standards for black people and women.
Not really. It upsets me when people frame Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility as "lowering standards for black people and women". Because doing so frames DEIA as racist and sexist

Removed rule 11/rule 12 breach
when its goal is actually the opposite, and cutting DEIA with a chainsaw the way the American administration is doing right now achieves only Uniformity, Inequity, Exclusion and Inaccessibility.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs brought in experts who testified that much of the discrepancy in scores could be attributed to some of the questions being culturally biased in favor of whites,” the Post reported.
Oh, please.

Figures you would disregard that sooo quickly. As its evidence that attacks your racist narrative that blacks & Hispanics are genetically inferior in academics.
Nothing was ever proved. It was simply assumed that because there was a disparity in outcomes it must be due to racism. Ya know, the racism of the gaps. Actual caustion was never offered. That's pretty much textbook lowering standards.

In fact just one hell of a minute there.

In what world is extending opportunity to black people and women "lowering standards"? Isn't that just hella racist and sexist? The assumption that black people and women can't possibly qualify unless the standards are lowered?

Can't you see just how ◊◊◊◊◊◊ up that is? Jesus ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ Christ.

The fact is that Harvard and other elite colleges have for decades had lower admission standards for blacks compared with Asians and whites, which you know, and they did this to increase enrollment of blacks, because too few blacks, based on so-called equity, could qualify under the higher standards for whites and Asians. This is hardly a secret.

Do I think that's racist? Yeah, I do. But that's what they did. Now, under our "anti-DEI government," they can't anymore—at least not without jeopardizing their federal funding.

The framing upsets you. But actually lowering standards? That doesn't upset you, so long as it isn't framed that way.

And your reference to uniformity is a joke. Leftists WANT uniformity, desperately. They cannot tolerate people who deviate from orthodoxy. Diversity of skin color is great, but not diversity of opinion.

Yeah, and thats why Liberals and Progressive are scrubbing all Federal websites and literally scrubbing building walls, to remove any mention of Gays, Lesbians, transgender folk or racial/ethnic diversity. Oh .. wait..thats YOU guys!!

So its the Liberals & Progressives banning the mention of LGBT stuff from schools? Nope, wrong again. Its YOU guys. The heroes of Opinion Diversity.

:)

Liberals and Progressives aren't the ones banning books.
Liberals and Progressives aren't the ones banning drag shows.
Liberals and Progressives aren't the ones ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊ deporting people because they're the wrong colour.

It's the conservative anti-woke, anti-dei, evangelical, transphobic billionaire autocrats doing that.

I do wish you'd take a look at what's actually happening under your anti-DEI junta. What you're saying is hopelessly naïve and it makes you look so out of touch with reality.

I see what's happening. They're enforcing Title VI and Title IX of the of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (finally).

Here's something from the New Yorker, about how much MAGA cares about "diversity of opinion":

"The deletions began shortly after Donald Trump took office. C.D.C. web pages on vaccines, H.I.V. prevention, and reproductive health went missing. Findings on bird-flu transmission vanished minutes after they appeared. The Census Bureau’s public repository went offline, then returned without crucial directories of geographic information. The Department of Justice expunged the January 6th insurrection from its website, and WhiteHouse.gov took down an explainer page about the Constitution. More than 130,000 government pages have gone dark in a purge that one scientist likened to a “digital book burning,” and which has proved as frightening in its imprecision as in its malice."

Harvard went race-neutral with respect to admissions after Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard. The Trump administration had nothing to do with it.

You do realize that's not actually persuasive, right?

True. But when Trump announces that they will actually enforce that ruling, libs ◊◊◊◊ a brick.
