Trump's Second Term

Newly re-elected Premier Doug Ford doubled down Monday on his threat to cut off electricity flowing from Ontario to several American states if the U.S. moves ahead with tariffs.

"If they want to try to annihilate Ontario, I will do anything — including cutting off their energy — with a smile on my face," Ford said during his first news conference since winning a third majority last week. Ontario is a major electricity exporter to New York, Michigan and Minnesota.

"They need to feel the pain. They want to come at us? We've got to go back twice as hard," Ford continued.

If you live in any of the 3 states mentioned, now might be a good time to invest in a backup generator.

Any clues?!? He's been splattering the same [genteel words fail me] for 30 years! It'll be the usual tshuka.

He's like a constipated elephant: full to bursting with just one thing.
Prepare for the idearrhea. (or idearrhoea for across the pond spelling)

ABC news reported, ""James Dennehy, a well-regarded leader in the New York law enforcement community who also served in the U.S. Marine Corps, told the office he was forced to submit his resignation as assistant director-in-charge of the FBI's New York field office, one of the bureau's most visible posts."Late Friday, I was informed that I needed to put my retirement papers in today, which I just did. I was not given a reason for this decision," Dennehy said in an email to staff, a copy of which was obtained by ABC News.""

NBC News reported, "It is widely believed inside the FBI that the resistance by Dennehy, along with the acting director Brian Driscoll and acting deputy director Rob Kissane — prevented a mass firing of thousands of FBI officials who worked on the January 6th cases. Dennehy's removal is likely to reignite fears of mass firings."

He’s going to make his horse a senator, isn’t he?
He's going to be bigly best man in JD Vance's wedding with his newest and youngest couch.

Or it's a speech starting with "48 hours ago I handed Zelensky a note saying that unless we heard from them that they were prepared to withdraw their forces from Ukranie..."

I can see a couple of minor problems with that strategy...

- Some of the areas that would be affected by cutting off electricity voted Democrat (such as New York). Seems a bit... counter-productive to harm them. (Other retaliatory measures, such as tariffs on agricultural products, make more sense because they are more likely to harm the MAGAchud.)

- Not sure how cutting off power will work when some of Ontario's power is generated by nuclear. Now, nuclear is great for base-load generation, which can make it a challenge about what to do with surplus power at times of low demand.

As far as your points go...

#1 I don't care. The US isn't discriminating about who it hurts here so why should we make an effort to discriminate who is affected there?

#2 Although the baseload is Nuclear and Hydro, there is plenty of wind and gas power that is easily ramped down

Tuberville: "Zelenskyy's gonna play hardball, but you know what? He's not even in the game. It's gonna be Putin and President Trump and the people on our side that will end up making this decision for the future of Ukraine."

Just like Hitler made his decision for the future of the Jews. He didn't ask for their input either.
